My friends back home in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) actually wear socks with their flip flops:
Flip Flop Socks - Buy Socks!

Everytime I see it, I just want to yell "How Madison" (reminds me of socks with Birkenstocks), but I don't think they'd quite see the humor LOL

On a happy note, the winters at least in this part of the state aren't as bad as Minneapolis/North Dakota!! That's a total 180 of Hell. Never knew what cold was until I lived in MN & then my brother in NoDak had to tell me it was even colder there. Sorry; but once it get's to -20, the only thing colder is "... cold" LOL

Why, oh why, would someone wear those socks with flip flops? Really? I am by no means the fashion police, but... eww.

Actually, down here in the desert, we actually say that we only have 2 seasons: "Hot" and "Effin Hot". Hot is when it is 85-95 in the winter.. Effin hot, is anything above 100... it all feels the same after that! I can't believe that I am going somewhere that is the complete opposite!

I hear the Dakotas are FREEZING, and so is MN, but the thing is, Eau Claire is only 90 miles from Minneapolis, so I am thinking it may be just as cold... I sure am glad that I don't smoke analogs anymore! I have a child with asthma, and we never smoked in the house anyway, but I would probably die if I had to go outside in the dead of winter just to light up!

I know! Socks with flip flops is the equivalent to wearing black socks with shorts. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should do it ;) LOL

And while you are making your conversion to becoming a Packer fan, it's AWESOME not having to go outside! Just vape at your leasure and not miss exciting moments like trying to get a TD instead of going for the (basically) sure bet of 3 pts:facepalm:

Rofl! Agreed.

As for the Packers, I was raised in a home with a father from Milwaukee and a mom from California. I was brought up cheering on the Raiders, 49ers, and Packers. Talk about being confused...

The 'confused' part fits you right into here.
And since you already have Packer blood running through your veins, you will make a smooth transition behind the cheddar curtain quite easily!
But I warn you - I have lived in roughly 4 other NFL markets -- nothing, and I mean nothing, will amazes you as much as the Packers fans! I though Denver was fanatic. They're pikers compared to the pros here.

I also have seen first hand what Denver fans are like... I actually went to the Denver/Raider game in November of (umm, lol, it HAD to have been 2006-2007? ) IDK, my memory sucks. ANYWAY, I made the mistake of getting a little tipsy (was underage, and my boyfriend at the time was buying me beer, and I was drinking it very discreetly). The man (40's??) sitting in front of us was a huge Broncos fan, as they all are, and I was drunk, wearing Raiders colors from head to toe. I made the mistake of rolling my eyes when he pointed and laughed at me because the Raiders failed to make a TD (what else is new?), and this guy proceeded to ATTACK ME. He tried to hit me, my boyfriend and his brother started yelling at him and telling him to calm down, and this guy ended up threatening our lives once we left the stadium. We had to get security to escort us out to our car. All because I rolled my eyes.

I will NOT be making the drive to go see a Green Bay game... I'd really rather not die. It's hard to believe anything could be worse than that...

But I do need to find myself a nice cheese hat :)

By the way, the game was in Denver lol

LOL - yeah; I assumed it was in Denver.
They are very dedicated, but in a not-so-nice way. Had a not so nice run in myself when attending a DEN SEA game in the 80s......

I was actually going to suggest even if you don't have tickets, you should take a trip to GB on a game day. It's AMAZING!! Such a total 180 from the "organized fun" they have in places like Minnesota (they aren't allowed to tailgate there - WTH??).
I'd actually recommend make a mini-weekend out of it; stay at a motel & get up early & just walk around town. The energy is electric & it's just fun to people watch. For the most part, everyone has their Wisconsin manners in check, no matter how drunk they get. I got extremely lucky & attended two games there last year after a 12 year drought - and one of them was Favre's return to Lambeau. LOTS of Viking fans, & even though emotions were running high, I didn't see anything that could make anyone uncomfortable.

I shutter to think what such a monumental game like that would have been like in DEN. Get the tear gas & tasers ready....

I definitely want to visit the area! Maybe next summer we can make a trip.

My move to WI got postponed... I was supposed to leave Saturday and the company that has our furniture wasn't going to leave Vegas for at least another 2 weeks, which meant spending 2 weeks, maybe a month, in a hotel room. My baby takes 2 naps a day and without her own bedroom, it was going to be torture!

I decided to stay in Vegas for a while longer, and talked to moving company into leaving sooner, so hopefully I am avoiding a hotel at all. Go straight from driving 4 days, to unpacking... good times. lol

There's good and bad to it, though. The apartment I've got is larger than the studio I'm currently in, actually has a BEDROOM, is cheaper, closer to the BF, and should be quieter.

The bad? I go back to parking outside (instead of underground, heated parking), I'll be 20 minutes away from work instead of 5, and no laundry on site unless I buy my own washer/dryer...oh...and the whole gotta move all my stuff thing.

Sounds like you have quite the give and take situation! Your new apartment does have washer/dryer hook ups though?

I was looking on craigslist, and there is a lot of pretty cheap washers and dryers- I'm talking like $150 for both. Not too bad, but I suppose that depends on each individuals point of view.

My house that we rented has no dishwasher (EEEKKK!!) and no washer or dryer, but it does have hookups. I am looking on CL for everything, I need a tabletop or portable dishwasher, plus we will be buying the washer and dryer. My husband had this "genius" idea about renting everything from a furniture rental store (Like Rent-A-Center or Aaron's)... Complete waste of money if you ask me. Been there, done that...
