I just started vaping two days ago and Im trying to kick a pack and a half a day years long habit on analogs.... I wish I woulda started here a coupla weeks ago for the massive amount of info available.... but I didnt, instead I started at the mall kiosk (please spare me }:)> ) anyway I got a cigarette looking PV and it works sometimes and not other times... Im not opposed to going to new equiptment, just not yet ( gotta recover from the massive, inflated cost of the first one first) so what I am looking for are the basics... am I doing something wrong? I add liquid to the little sponge in the cartridge and sometimes it works and sometimes not.... how often should I be adding liquid?, how long should the battery last?, how long should the standard cartridge last? etc. etc. etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Dave

Well, how long it should last and how long it actually lasts really depends on you. What the vendors say are really the best scenarios to the vaping world - a mild vaper. Definitely what you got was most likely way overpriced, hate to say it, but yes. That is just the way it works - those dang kiosks! But hey, it got you started into vaping, correct?

You will get a lot of recommendations here, after my post....especially about skipping all the small analog-looking ecigs and going straight to an EGO or RIVA type PV. Well, I'm not going to do that. (I've been there, done that)

I started small (analog looking), went to all types 808, 510's, etc...on to RIVA (cheap), then EGO (better quality), now after over a year of vaping guess what? I'm tired of dripping, trying all the fancy attys, tanks, cartomizer versions.
A couple weeks ago I made the switch back to the new regulated 808 style (analog looking) ecig from Smokeless Image (Volt) and I am loving it. It is nice to just find that one vendor I can use to get the small footprint ecigs with a charging case that lasts me all day with 2 batteries (and these are the small 65mm cig size). When one runs out, I make the switch in my PCC and bam! It starts charging while I use the other. By the time this one runs out, the other is fully charged.

Such a great device to make the transition easy off of analogs with no worry about trying this brand or this type. How about a tank? How about a Mod? Now I'm not saying these are bad devices, all are great in their own way. Just right now YOU NEED to focus on quitting analogs and having complete satisfaction is key. Read up on everything in the forum over time, just don't overwhelm yourself...remain focused.

Smokeless Image's Volt will take you there. And I must say I cannot speak enough about their customer service, the best around.

Thanks for reading.

EDIT: OF course I forgot to mention their outstanding prices compared to the competitors. You have to see for yourself. And they offer standard 1st class shipping as an option, as all vendors should do.

Also, most important missed a couple points from your post...a typical cartomizer can hold around 20 drops of eliquid, some more some less. Just pull that end-cap off and drip into the filler material until it soaks up.

Depending on what you purchased, like others asked already, the battery (if a 510) may last 45 min to an hour of vaping - maybe a little longer if you are a light vaper. The 808 style will get you (depending on battery size) a small one heaving vaping 2 hours, light vaping 4 hours...larger batteries even longer. Not knowing the model makes it difficult to rate your model.

A couple years ago I started with an NJoy NPro. It also looked like a cigarette, and had the tiny little cartridge with the teeny filler material. It was a three-piece unit: battery, atomizer (heating unit), and the cartridge. I found the battery lasted about an hour...maybe. The cartridge would only hold maybe five drops of e-liquid, though...which only gave me a couple of draws before I had to re-fill it. Additionally, sometimes the filler would not drop e-liquid onto the atomizer and I would get nothing, or the filler would get dry and I would get an immediate burnt taste.

If your unit is like that, and you can't upgrade immediately then you may want to try "direct dripping." Pry the tip off of the cartridge (mouth-end) to create a home-made drip-tip. Put about three drops of e-liquid directly on the heating coil you should see in the atomizer. However, if your unit is also an "automatic" (meaning it doesn't heat up until you inhale on it) then be very careful that e-liquid does not run down to the battery as it will short it out.

If this info doesn't describe your unit, then....nevermind...sorry. Good luck. :)

So people have better info

Is your ecigarette a 3-piece with cartridge (aka cart) pushed on atomizer which is screwed on battery?

Or is it a 2-piece with juice cartomizer (aka carto) that screws directly onto the battery?

And I assume you have auto batteries.

None of your questions can be answered without knowing what model you have and even then it is inexact because everyone vapes differently.

In general, 100mah of battery charge is about 1 hour of moderate vaping. Typical slim ecig mah are sometimes under 100 for the skinniest crappiest ecigs, to 180mah for the smallest decent ecigs, to 280mah for the 120-130mm long 9mm diameter slim ecigs. Many people here vape fat battery models or mods with 650 or more mah charge life.

In general - you add juice to carts or cartos when they need it. When the vapor seems a bit light or a bit dry or the atomizer or cartomizer is getting abnormally warm, you add juice.

And if you have auto batteries (suck to mack vapor, no button) those are most at risk from damage or death by juice leaks because autos are totally dependent on a drag sensor right inside the hole in the end of the battery.

I think its 280 mah from reading global smokes website.... could be 180 though..... it seams like I need to add a coupla drops to the sponge gigie after 15ish drags.... which is fairly quickly it seams to me... dude at the kiosk said that 10 to 12 drags is about equal to a analog cig ( 18mg juice) ??? that sound right?..... I want to quite smoking but at the same time I dont want to unknowingly be dosing myself up on higher levels of nicotene than I am used to. ( the whole point is to break the habit right)

yea its 3 piece... global smoke... from the little ive read thus far it might be a 510?

YA just watched the video on the global smoke and im 99% sure its just a 510 (which you can get from a good vender on here for about $30-35). If its not a 510 its some form of clone of it. But im sure its just a re-branded 510. If you car not getting and vapor from it even though you put e liquid in the cart. Try dropping a few drops right on the atty and then using it without the cart on it. Normally when people use this they also use a drip tip but you dont have to. Then see if you get vapor. If no vapor then...... you have a dead atty

18 mg is fine you. the mAh of the battery is how long it lasts how how powerful it is. if it is a 510 which im sure it is. it's a 3.2v e cig.

The only thing you need to worry about with nicotine for now is that you don't take so much in that you get negative side effects. It won't hurt you, it's just unpleasant. If you find you want to vape more but you get side effects, drop your nicotine level. As time goes on, you can use less and less nicotine as you see fit. There is no rush as nicotine itself doesn't seem to do much long-term damage. Vape how you need to vape, it's far better than analogs.

yea seams to me to be... I been smokin about a pack and a half to two packs for 5-6-7 years and at least a pack a day for 13ish years prior, so Im not really woried about oding(possible?) on nicotene, just dont want to take in more than I already do with analogs.... just makes me feel like Im going backwards ( aside from all the other obvious benefits of vaping vs smoking)

I was the same way. I metered my daily and weekly use from the 3.7ml bottles I got from Johnson Creek. It's kind of hard to meter based on drops and such, but you can't argue with an empty bottle. From a pack a day, which yeah did spike up to 1.5 packs/day if I didn't pay attention, I started out at 1.5ml/juice/day of 18mg/ml. I didn't really make the full switch until I discovered 24mg/ml juice from a cheap KR808.

The prices there are, well, plum awful. I've seen worse, from the likes of WhiteCloud. It shouldn't work this poorly, you might as well get a drip tip if you have a manual battery. Like 2 / 3 drops on the addy per proverbial cig. That's my method, and I find it's reliable even if I have to drip alot. But this sounds like you have bum cartridges, like the fluid in them dried up and it won't get to the atomizer. In any event, why ask why, get a Riva 510 kit from Liberty Flights for under $40. It'll come with all the gear you need, and you'll have your smaller 510s in a pinch.

Unless you drink the liquid (which is a very, very, very bad idea), your body won't let you overdose to the point of putting yourself at risk. If you start to feel funny, stop vaping and the nicotine will leave your body quickly. Typical symptoms of slight overdoses are light-headedness, nausea, or rapid heart beat. Headache may also occur. Those are just the first signs that you've had too much, and are no cause for concern. Vaping won't give you a fatal overdose, but nicotine is capable of causing death at doses found in full bottles of eliquid. It's even more dangerous to children and pets, so keep your liquid and PV where they can't get it. It does go through the skin too, so wash it off if you get some on you.

I know you want to stay at the same level of nicotine as you were taking in from analogs, I'm sorry. It's just not possible to plan that out with any precision.

yo bro im from san diego and i fell victim to the global smoke kiosk too. if you bought yours where i did, then have comfort that you arent the only guy who spent that much, and we can keep that a secret lol. anyway, just looking around for any type of reviews on the product, i got the double heavy hitter... i guess after the fact is not the best time to be researching but hey atleast it got me into the vaping world. good luck to ya.
