I am also a noob (started vaping Tues). Before, I was a 1.5-2 pack/day Ultra Light MB smoker. I would smoke in "shifts" - don't smoke inside - would go outside and smoke for hour(s), then not smoke for hour(s) etc etc etc. I started vaping 18-24mg - from 1st vape got the "buzz" feeling. Didn't like it. I hadn't had the "buzz" feeling since I 1st started smoking. I just smoked for the habit of it - stress reducer etc. Fortunately, my vendor had included freebies of 11mg. I've been vaping these since Tuesday. I'm finding that these match my routine better although I've ordered 8mg replacements to "taste test" flavors. Seems like from reading the forum (many threads/posts) that you just have to find your own niche. Tedious - yes, but you'll find it - don't despair.

I was a 2+ pack a day smoker of lights. And I find that I can't handle anything higher then 8mg.

But I'm still new to this and haven't experimented a lot. 18mg gave me one heck of a head rush and I felt well drunk. Tried 16mg the same. 11mg working on but throat hit is harder then I expected.
8mg seems to be my sweet spot. Guess it really does vary from person to person.
I think heavy smokers can have issues because we tend to vape more than we smoked. So, if you're trying to keep pace with what you smoked, you'll vape even more - does that make sense?

If you saw how much I vape, you'd swear I was a 1-2 pack smoker, but it was more like 1/4 - 1/2 pack! But my habit has changed - for one because going outside to smoke kept me at lower amounts. Now that I can just reach over and grab my PV, I'm getting a LOT more nicotine. So, I'm going to cut down from low to extra low, myself!
