Newb needing help!!

Hi Everyone,

I have just given up smoking today after receiving my sample e-cig.
Problem is, I really dont like the taste of it
I normally smoke around 20 a day, Mayfair Smooth, does anyone know of an e-cig that will give me a similar taste and strength to my normal brand?
ive looked at all the flavoured ones, but I'm the kinda person that doesnt like herbal teas etc, so not sure if they are really the kind of things for me.
I would really appreciate any help!

Ecigs don't come in flavors. Good ecigs are just hardware and you buy liquids or in some cases prefilled cartomizers.

I have no idea what Mayfairs taste like. I recommend you get a total of 5 non-spam posts or replies in New Members, then wait an hour, then you could ask in the UK forum because I don't know what is easily available in the UK. I am pretty sure Liberty-Flights.co.uk carries Joye 510 which is a good starter ecig. You can either use atomizer+cartridge with it or buy blank cartomizers and use those (that is how I use it). I strongly recommend if you get a 510 to get a MANUAL battery model. Manual battery 510's are totally sealed on the threaded end of the battery and much safer from getting killed by juice drips. You buy some starting eliquid at the same time (the starting liquid may not be that great) and then order some liquids the UK forum recommends because they will know what liquids are available to you in the UK as well as what Mayfairs taste like.

And remember to smell the vapor. Most of the taste of a cigarette is its aroma and cigs dump smoke all over you. Ecigs do not dump vapor all over you - you need to remember to let your nose have some.

If you were in the US I would recommend Backwoods Brew Casablanca as a juice. I was a Capri lights and Ultralights smoker (until they got too expensive and I had to smoke harsh cheap lights instead). BWB Casablanca what the juice that worked for me. A complex Turkish blend w/ some cocoa. Most US cigarettes have cocoa in the the tobacco. I also like a liquid made from Flavourart (an Italian company) Cocoa flavoring and I add that to some tobacco eliquids.

I'm not familiar with that brand of cigs. Is it a menthol? Light? There are lots of "tobacco" flavors out there, but none that will taste exactly like burning paper and tobacco/chemicals. I'm not into the tobacco flavors, so I really can't recommend any. But I just wanted to say welcome and congrats on quitting cigs!

Welcome to ECF and the world of vaping. I can honestly say I started off, like you, wanting something that tastes like my old cigarettes. It take me a bit to figure out that I wasn't going to find that exact flavor. I have figured out that I preferred fruit flavors. What I did was buy samples from different places and try, try, try. You obviously don't have to stick with fruit samples.

There are loads of suppliers on this forum that you can check their prices. Some even have specials on their samples from time to time. I know that you cannot see that part of the forum until you get your post count up, so I suggest you start posting on other's threads.

Ive found it really hard giving uo today,especially with not liking the taste. i will however take your advice and get some flavoured samples.
Mayfair smooth is a lighter cigarette,ive only ever tried Lucky Strike abroad, so i guess its a lighter version.
I have found today that I am coughing alot and have dry throat, not sure if its the e-cig or if it is because I havent smoked.
Well Im glad I have finally taken the step to give up and that I can get great advice on here.

Drink water, always have it with you. I noticed the same thing when I started. Take some sips, should help alot. I've seen other people recommend this as well.

Don't get discouraged, you will find something you like by trying different flavors. I have a friend near London and she buys her liquid from Totally Wicked. She is very happy with it. I have gotten some from the USA site of Totally wicked and I think it has a great taste. If you like the menthol I bought the Menthol Med, and I that one. Just look at the flavors they have an pick what you like.

I really enjoyed Totally Wicked's Malbury flavor myself. I think that's what it's called. Try, try, & try again. Don't give up. Been at it for 2 months and gotta say I am so happy that I didn't give up those first few days. It was difficult but with my ecig it was not NEAR as hard as trying to quit cold turkey. Good luck!

Hi Amy, I can recommend RY4 or RY4 with caramel. Really nice and smooth, I used to smoke Sterling which is probably an average ciggarette. Go for a low to medium strength e juice too and see how it goes. There are loads of suppliers in the UK for juice. Some sites list tobacco flavours like real cigs, you might find something similar to Mayfair with a little digging. Hope you stick with it, good luck.
