harleyrdr, I can sense your extreme frustration. I'll try to be a clear as possible and make specific recommendations with links to the products.
I highly recommend the Mini Vivi Nova tank (see link below). It vapes great, doesn't leak, unscrews and comes completely apart so you can clean it when you change juices, and the head (i.e., the heating coil that atomizes the juice) is replaceable just by screwing it off and screwing another one on. And the replacement heads cost about $3. You will see the replacement heads in the pics at the links below - the head is the part that has the wicks.
I've got several of the "stardusts" like you have. Some vape fine and some have a really tight draw like yours. The quality control on them sucks. Plus, for your battery you need to be using a low resistance ("LR") version, which is the 2.1 - 2.4 ohm version. A 1.8 ohm version would be even better, but I don't know if they make them.
At this point, you don't need to understand ohms. Just remember that for your battery, any cartomizer, clearomizer (such as the stardust), atomizer or tank needs to be 2.4ohms or, preferably, below (1.5ohm to 2.0 ohms would be best). But do NOT get anything that is "dual coil." Trust me on that one.
Oh, and your Ego uses a 510 connection (thread pattern). You'll see references to 808, 901, and whatever. When you're ordering atomizers, tanks, cartomizers, or ANYTHING that screws onto your battery, you want the 510 version of it.
Here are links to the Vivi Nova Mini and the replacement heads I would recommend:
Mini Vivi Nova Tank:
GotVapes Vision Mini ViVi Nova 2.5ml 2.4ohm [gv-MiniViViNova510-2.4ohm] - $8.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
Vivi Nova 1.8ohm Head ( I recommend getting at least 2 of these):
GotVapes VISION ViVi NOVA Twist-On HEAD 1.8ohm Long Wick [gv-VIVNOVA-CoilHeadONLY-1.8] - $2.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
I would also recommend that you buy an atomizer that you can drip juice into (called "dripping"). It does two things for you. Most importantly, it gives you something to vape if all else fails. And it also allows you to test different juices easily. (You can read more about that later when you are past the current crisis and frustration.) Here's a link to a low resistance atomizer:
LR Atomizer:
GV BRIDGLESS Drippers Dream 510 Atomizer - 1.7ohm BLACK [gotvapes-BRIDGLESS-1.7ohm-black] - $5.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
Finally, you should consider ordering an Ego Twist. It is a variable voltage battery that allows you to crank the voltage up or down to suit the resistance of the atomizer, cartomizer, tank, or clearomizer that you are using. For example, your Ego is a regulated 3.4volt battery. It will work best on a low resistance atomizer, carto, etc., such as a 1.5 to 2.0 ohms. The heads that come with the Vivi Nova are 2.4ohm heads. Those will work better at 4.0 - 4.4 volts. (That's why I linked you to the 1.8ohm replacement heads.) With the Twist, you can crank the voltage up as far as 4.8volts, so those 2.4ohm heads would work better with the Twist than with your existing battery.
I know this is a lot of info, but I'm trying to be clear and specific. If you have questions, please ask. We want to help you succeed!!
