I was wondering if anyone could explain to me why people say there is a flavor difference with same juice on a direct drip, carto system and a tank. Especially the tank as I'm not loving my new ego t, like no flavor.
Isn't it all juice on a coil that vapes? What makes them have a different amount of flavor and TH. I guess I understand why different volts and LR would be different but don't get why same volts and ohm on these 3 would have any difference.

Does.the filler and wick material keep the coil from heating up fully or something?

I just ordered a dual coil carto and a LR and standard drip atty so ill be able to compair for myself soon, but thought id get the brain juices flowing in understanding it all.

Thanks.

Basically anytime you put your juice through anything it has the potential to affect the flavor. Some more than others. Direct dripping removed the wick and carto fluff, etc from the equation.

From my limited experience i have noticed that by dripping straight to the atomizer the flavor is more pure due to no wadding.
I'm a carto user mainly and have noticed that the more fruit type flavors are better tasting at 3.7 to 5v straight dripping, than with a carto. Cartos to me are hard to figure out some leave a wadding type flavor and some have none at all. Dual cartos I find give more flavor and alot more vapor than standard cartos. However the vertical cartos are nearly the same in vapor production, to me flavor is lost a little, but still very close.

Hope this helps some. Im a noob to this myself but this is my understanding so far.

Many have lack of flavor issues with tanks. I don't know why. Maybe the atty gets too wet?

Dripping - I think part of the extra flavor with dripping is body position - I usually hold the ecig more vertical when dripping so when I finish my drag a bit of remaining vapor often wafts right up to my nose. Much of vapor flavor is aroma.

Stuffing cartos - I find the flavor is strongest when the carto is nicely damp and neither getting dry nor overly wet. And of course the carto needs to be unsinged. A singed carto adds a bitter taste.

IMO if dual coils give more flavor it is because each coil is actually cooler and it is giving double vapor. I find many juices have flavors that are more accurately delivered by cooler coils. But I have also seen some people complain of taste or vapor problems with dual coils so they probably have their own learning curve or requirements vs other cartos.

I still have to try a reservoir cartos. I got some CE3's - just haven't tried since one person said they STILL leak.

Because of having different thermal dynamics and also different hydro dynamics.

Pretty simple huh :?:

Agreed. The filler acts like chromatography paper and partially separates out the constituents of the liquid. The temperature will have an influence by fractional distillation. Both effects leading to changes in flavor over time.

fractional distillation aside, vaping require just the right amount of juice, on a coil at just the right temp, replenished with just the right amount of juice to replace what's vaped, without the battery voltage sagging too much, and supplying enough amperage.....:) I'm amazed it works at all....we try to balance everything and after all the technology is still being developed.

vaping sometimes it the art of compromise, just find your own sweet spot, we all have our own favorite voltage, carto or atty, it's worth the trip...:)
