Hi Blinky and welcome to ECF. I was a 1 PAD very strong analogs for 40+yrs- so strong people would go without rather than smoke one of mine :D Before vaping I truly believed I'd be going to my grave a smoker and prolly because of analogs. The PV has given me, and my wife, a whole new outlook on life. I know you can do it. For me there were some up and downs but coming here to ECF knowing I was among friends that truly cared was paramount to my success. No pressure- just do what feels comfortable at that particular moment and it will all eventually come together.
Happy vaping.

Hey Blinky, welcome to the wonderful world of vaping!

Vaping is great, because, once you figure out how to get the hit you really want, it ends up being more satisfying than smoking.

Starting with one of those cigarette looking devices isn't too bad, I started that way, and probably many others. It's the first thing we are all exposed to, before we learn that there are better devices out there. So, next time you place an order for vaping stuff, you might consider getting a more powerful battery. Nevertheless, my mini e-cig worked good enough for me to quit. Make sure you have at least some liquid that is high nicotine, for the times when you really need a fix and you feel like the lower-nicotine liquid isn't cutting it. I think we all go through times like that. Read about your options, the eGo is good because batteries are cheap, and the 510 connection is very compatible with other devices, and easy to find atomizers for.

I can help you find a good tobacco flavor for emulating a cigarette, but my best advice would be to find some e-liquid that is NOT tobacco flavored. Find several good non-tobacco flavors that you really like, because then, you will realize that vaping actually tastes better than smoking. I mean, you can get it to taste like literally anything from your wildest dreams. Want to enjoy a really amazing coffee-flavored smoke? With vaping, you can!! And I do, almost every day! Coffee from Vaperite.com (any of the coffee flavors) are outstanding, exactly what I was looking for, and I haven't found anything else quite like them. Vaperite makes good buttery-sweet flavors, too.

Not into coffee or buttery-sweet? What about fruit flavors? TONS of good ones out there. And did you like to smoke menthol? Because you can pretty much mentholate ANY flavor you want to. :)

Believe me, there are SO MANY pros and SO LITTLE cons (I think the learning curve required is the only con) when you compare vaping and smoking. Most importantly, you are going to avoid lung and heart disease, but even setting that consideration aside, there are STILL so many awesome benefits, like the flavor options I mentioned, plus vaping will actually make you and your house/car smell GOOD. The smells that come from vaping are very weak, almost not noticeable, but my friends tell me I smell like whatever I've been vaping, and it's always good. I vape at home, in the car with the windows up... I mean, damn. Vaping is truly awesome and I really hope you stick with it.

If your small e-cig starts failing you, get an eGo or something similar. When I bought my ego kit, it was about half the price of the mini e-cig that I started with, and the eGo is literally better in every single category, except that it doesn't look like a cigarette. I'm sure there are better quality models that DO look like a cigarette as well, if looking like a cigarette is very important to you.

Anyway, too many words, but I truly think that with an open mind, and (more importantly) a hard-hitting personal vaporizer, what's not to love? It's like we're cheating. We still get the same enjoyment as smoking (as long as you're getting the hits you want), and avoid 99.9% of everything that is bad about smoking. We are having our cake and eating it, too. Yay technology!
