I'm six weeks in now without a cigaret* (I have on three separate occasions lit one but never made it past the first drag) they are nasty to me now. I can't believe my girlfriend kissed me back then! I work at a convince store overnight and for the first few says it was tempting to buy a pack but every time a smoker came in I gaged at the smell. I tore up my last three cigs 40 days ago and have not looked back since.

Does ANYONE have any suggestions on how to put the real cigs down and just do the vapping. When I started I kept smoking right along with it and now I'm doing both at same time! FUSTRATED!!!

I just told myself that I was getting everything I needed and that seemed to help convince my brain to refuse the urges.

Yes.

Try out disposable cigalikes.

If you find one that works like if you are merely changing brands, then stick with that.

Once you find yourself using only or mostly cigalike, it becomes a matter of getting a better setup to save money instead of buying cigalikes all the time.

I just told myself that I was getting everything I needed and that seemed to help convince my brain to refuse the urges.

When I first started vaping, I didn't really have what I would call a craving for a cigarette, just a vague anxious feeling. When that happened, I did just what you say, told myself I was getting the nicotine my body needed, and that it was just the "Ghost Habit" messing with my mind. Then picked up my trusty little ego and vaped some more.

If you were a heavy smoker like I was, you may want to consider upping your nicotine mg. I started with juice recommended by a local shop that was 18 mg. It just didn't do the trick for me. I got some 24 mg. and the difference was amazing in only an hour or two. I was totally comfortable, and have been ever since.

I have smoked for 42 years and 2 packs of 25. I used an Ego-C upgraded . Smoked 4 or 5 cigarettes a day for 2 months. never planned on quiting totally. Bought a MPV2 and just decided to stop cigarettes totally. They were tasting like I was smoking a pile of dirt anyways. Still on 24mg. Plan on moving down to 18 sometime and my goal is 6mg. I still let my workers smoke in my truck but decided my house is a vape only zone. If it is not working get a better system/ When I went to an MPV2, the first day I was feeling horribly sick from over nicotining but the very next day is when I totally quit. Do what you have to do to quit. Good luck to you.

I didn't have a hard time putting the cigs down. It wasn't that I don't crave them. I certainly do. I went right down to 5-6/day. My "Plan" was to smoke 5-6 a day and cut back from there. My second night vaping, I lit up a smoke and it burned my tongue badly and tasted horrible! I have wanted one many times since then but I remember that awful taste and how it burned. Makes it easier. The hardest time is after meals, first thing in the morning and last thing before going to bed.

It takes longer to get your nicotine fix from vaping. When you have that urge, try vaping several drags quicker than you normally would and make yourself try to wait out the urge. If you can't, don't! I think if you stress yourself out about it, it makes it harder to quit. (it does for me anyway)

Good luck!

It will take awhile to discover what types of juice you like and different vendors have different nicotine and different juice making procedures. I would suggest trying different companies, do not just try flavors from Mt.Baker (although they are a decent company for low priced juice). Also try different ratios, anywhere from 100% Vegetable Glycerin (VG) to 50 VG/50 Propylene Glycol (PG). Also do not get discouraged if you cannot taste your juice the way you could. I know for a couple days I had what is commonely refered to as vaper's tongue. Just drink lots of water and it will go away. Just keep at it, I was a heavy smoker for 10 years and have been off for a month and a half. If you want to quit you will, it is so much better than smoking.

Stick with it, it actually becomes a hobby especially when you graduate to RBA`s...

This.
I've stuck with vaping since I quit smoking (actually quit cold turkey for a month then picked up vaping) and it's turning into a hobby for me now. Congrats on quitting, just stay the course and it will be well worth it!
