Hello all. I am a newbie vaper and I am already frustrated. So I began this journey about a year ago when I already had 18mos smoke free (chantix) but was feeling like I was about to pick the sticks back up due to overwhelming stress. I stupidly purchased a blu and hated it! so I gave up and started the stinkys again. Well about 2 months ago I found out that I had a store local to me that sold all kinds of ecigarette goodies FSUSA. So went in got me an ego and some juice.

Here is the problem. I love dripping but it is just not convenient for me to carry around juice and drip every few drags. I have tried carts, cartomizers, the Jessy Tank (bought a Jessy atty to use it with) and just today received some e2 clearomizors(5th gen).

About the the only thing that worked more than not was the Jessy tanks (no filler) but I cant find them anywhere and FSUSA is out and has been(they gave me one to try and that's how I figured out I liked them)

Here is my issues with all I have tried

Carts and cartomizors I just cant seem to get a handle on filling them up enough not to have a burnt taste super quick. I am almost debating trying the cartos again but filling with a syringe.

The e2's that I got today I followed the directions to a T and they taste burnt from the start, I don't know if its not wicking or what.

So anyway I would love any suggestions as to what I can try, or what will help.I have read until I am cross eyes and I really have the desire to get of the real ones but I just cant find a way to make it work for me. Like I said I love dripping but its just not convenient for me to do long term. Thanks for the help!

I'm surprised to hear you're having problems with cartomizers and a burnt taste. I went exclusively to using them after finding the flavor of juices lacking with the ego-t I bought. I simply don't care for the tanks. I buy my cartomizers from Crystal Clear Vaping because the price is good, shipping is fast, and shipping is always free. You might check them out and try using a Low Resistance cartomizer. I have some LR Boge 2.0 cartos and I picked up some Dual Coil LR Mega cartos from LiteCigUSA that are champs! I'm going to try the C.C.V. Mega LR 1.7 (THE RESURRECTOR) from Crystal Clear Vaping next time.

You also might try filling cartomizers with the condom method. What I've been doing is filling the little white carto sleeve with 20 drops of juice and then slowly slide the carto battery-threads down into the sleeve. The juice will soak in from the bottom up. Then I top off the carto from the top with 10+ drops. I wait a few minutes and add a few more drops (if needed) until I see a little bead of juice appear on the battery-threads. Never had a burnt taste doing that. The only time I get that taste now if if my carto is almost dried up because the juice is gone. To remedy that I just try to keep my cartos topped off throughout the day if I switch flavors.
I'm not sure if any of this will help, but hopefully it does. :)

cartos...Boges take 1ml+- to fill, I do use a syringe for filling a new one...or if I am lazy, I leave the bottom condom/plug on and use the flood 'n fill method...drip juice down the inside wall of carto until it is flooded up to the top...let sit a couple of min and flood it again...after it has set a minute, I will look to see if there is any puddle left...if not, I drip a few more drops in...once it is saturated, I pull the bottom condom and plug, give a blow to the barrel end, into a tissue/napkin, wipe the threads and vape on...every 1/2 to an hour, depending on how hard I'm vaping, I drip enough down the inside of the barrel to re-saturate the filling...works for me..............

You could just jump in with both feet and get a REO bottom-feeder mod. reosmods.com I have been using my REO for about 6 months now, and it's the most hassle-free vaping I've found. It's really awesome. It's dripping....just from the bottom up. (Same clean taste.) I don't know if you're interested in a mod or not, but the REO totally did it for me. I've been cigarette free for a year and three months now, and I can tell you that they simply WORK. Just a suggestion.

It's funny the way you put it. You're a newbie, and already frustrated. The implication is that you shouldn't be frustrated until you're a seasoned veteran. Anyhow, I was frustrated with the njoy for a few reasons. The cigarette looking battery dies way too quickly, and it's not strong enough to give consistent vaping before it's in definite need of another charge. The automatic mechanism gets messed up too easily, and it always starts right up on it's own with the car window down. Finally, the cartomizers just got that burnt taste too quickly. I've been told that I'm just using it wrong. However, the material inside would burn very quickly, even though there was plenty of liquid to counter act. I felt that I was spending way too much money, and never had enough backup hardware available. Sure, I could just spring for a new battery every couple of weeks, or keep buying over expensive refills. I felt that I was spending too much money.

So, last week I splurged for an ego-t. Personally, I love it. The batteries are great, IMO. I like the tanks, and the atomizers give me decent vapor and taste. I just have to stay away from trying to clean them. As a newbie to the ego, I'm a little frustrated in the fact that cleaning isn't as easy as Vicki from Cignot makes it look. I've already ruined two atomizers. One completely destroyed, and the other is good for manual dripping now. That wick just doesn't want to come out. So, I've pretty much figured out that I'll narrow my likes down to two or three flavors, and just keep a few atomizers around. One for each flavor. Maybe I'll occasionally soak them in alcohol, and not try to take them apart.

I think this is a good plan for me, and if you keep reading around, you'll find what makes you happy.

That thing looks interesting. It's kind of funny looking. It'd probably be alright around home for me but I'm not sure about public vaping. :) The idea behind it is cool though and is definitely tempting. I just don't know about the price tag though. :\

Have you tried the 808 cartomizes with the ego? You can purchase an adapter (for around $3) to convert from 510 atties to the 808 cartomizers instead ( for about $7.95 for 5 cart's, USD). This works great with my E power and more vapor and thorat hit). I don't like the 510 cartomizers, but the 808's are the bomb! Personally, this is my favorite catomizer and why not use it with the 510 models? Better than any atties and the price is much cheaper and u can refill many times (simple to do with the rubber condom that comes on them----go to u tube to see the different ways to fill them). Also, there are video's that show how to clean them when they quit working to par (which I have not tried yet). much better price than the atties! Hope this info helps you!!!

Cartomizers - I use thin juices with 20% or less VG (often 10% or less). That way the liquid flows easily and quickly through the stuffing to where it is needed. I avoid all juices that drop flavoring sediment in the stuffing because that just gunks up everything. I use Boge cartos which are most popular for 510 devices because they just work.

I don't use a syringe or any tricks. I make the carto take 18 drops (per ml capacity and Boge are 1ml) and I hold a tissue against the threaded end hole while putting that in. Then I wait 20 seconds or so and then drip in slowly however many more it will eagerly soak in (usually 3-6). Then I do cleanup (threads, air channel, touch soft tissue to the top of the stuffing if it looks too damp). Then on the first fill it has to settle to make sure every bit of stuffing is damp. I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes (plenty of time for the juices I use). Then vape.

While vaping - if the vapor seem light or dry or tastes the tiniest bit off, or if the carto is getting abnormally warm, I add juice. Before putting a new battery on or going out and anytime I think of it if i haven't added juice for a while, I look at the top of the stuffing and if it looks light I add juice. I use such clear sediment-free juices that even a week later the stuffing goes white on top when it could take some liquid. I use a plastic or delrin drip tip instead of the end cap so it's easy to check or add juice.

I can usually get 10 days or more of good use with a Boge carto.

And the 808 cartos by Bloogplanet are very nice and seem more resistant to singeing with that bottom coil. Use a 510 to 808 adapter (99 cents at Goodprophets) to use Bloog cartos on a 510 device.

There are things heavy vapers like such as carto tanks that (I think) hold a pierced-side Boge carto inside and surround it with juice (I think that's how Liquinator works?) and there are various CE2 carto tanks are a big tank with replaceable CE2 carto guts inside (wicks and coil) and other kinds of custom tank devices that hold a lot of liquid.

Look through here to see a lot of devices with big tank things on them (not my lame at-work setup which is the first picture)

Lots of good ideas. Just want to add that drop size can vary according to the material of the dropper and the viscosity of the liquid, but as a ball-park 20 drops ~~ 1ml.

Also, if you carry your VP upright, you could give it a half0-minute horizontal bfore use (not a big matter).

There are a few devices that make it easier to drip. I have and use a DOD. The vapemate has been around a while but, it's pricey. Notcigs has something called a dripper that is reputed to work.

Really, if you don't like cartos, a bottom feeder is the most convenient way. As for it looking funny, in my experience that's a plus. People tend to think you're trying to get around the rules, if you use something that looks like a cigarette and they don't like it. Use something that looks nothing like a cigarette and that doesn't happen as much. I works better to have what you are using less associated with cigarettes.

LOL, the Mini REO fits easily in your hand. A little bigger than a Zippo. People always assume that they are bigger than they are. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...mily-photos-storage-ideas-28.html#post3092464 :)

The e2's that I got today I followed the directions to a T and they taste burnt from the start, I don't know if its not wicking or what.

You are right, they do not wick well. Have you moded them at all or just used them out of the box? When filling new or freshly cleaned CE2's I let them soak for a while before I use them and also drip a couple of drops of juice onto the coil. Then, when I'm ready to vape, I take a couple of drags without activating the battery. They are also finicky about the juice you use. Juices with more than 25% VG will not wick well in them.

You can also remove/mod the seals if you want to improve wicking. First remove all seals from the top of the CE2. This should be the mouth piece, the middle "donut" seal and the cup seal. When putting it back together don't use the cup seal. Only use the donut seal with the ridge down against the ceramic cup. This will greatly improve wicking and keep leakage at a minimum.

Your method works great. Tried it last night and no mess, no fuss. Completely filled my carto and finally got rid of that dry vape. :) Thanks for sharing that.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I will have to try cartos again and use the condom method for filling and see if that works. As far as the ce2's I just pulled the one I tried tonight apart and its toast. I pulled all the plugs out and he center portion above the cup is black and burnt and no matter how much juice is in there or even putting a drop in the center it still gets that burnt assy Hahah flavor within 5 drags. I love the idea or a bottom leader but I don't want to carry such a large odd looking mod. I'll look this post over again closely with the suggestions and see what I can come up with. Thanks again!
