Hi there

The title of the thread is true, I'm a newbie, started vaping 6 months ago and love it, but now where moving out of the states, we're going to a country where the ecig is almost unknown, and there's ban on electronic smoking devices, so you cannot commercialize, import or anything like it .... so it doesn't look good.

I've been getting a lot of stuff that's available through the vendors here in the forums, but just now I realized the real need to learn how to do my own stuff, like I do with pretty much everything else.

I have no previous experience, I know very little about the electric things going on here, but I knew nothing about most of the stuff I know now, and you learn as you go as long as you dedicate time to it, and I'm willing to do it.

Stop wasting your time I'd like to know what things would you recommend to take with me that can help get started modding ? I have soldering gun, basic one, I have the helping hand stand, a digital multimeter that I have no idea how to use , and some parts I keep from things that break like tubes, silicone plugs and so on.

The other part of the deal is that I'm leaving in a week, so ordering stuff now is stupid because nothing is gonna make it in time, some stuff I can get from radioshack maybe.

I ordered a couple of Ato-misers from Nhaler with extra coils and wick, so when I ran out of cartos I can get into rebuilding stuff which I'd probably know how to do it by then.

let me know what do you guys suggest and sorry for the long post, always had that problem not knowing how to simplify things, even my writing :)

take care folks and thanks!

I'd look into DIY e-liquids. Definitely stock up on nicotine e-liquid (base), keep it cool and dark and it should be good for ~1yr possibly 2yr. You should be able to get flavorings, PG and VG anywhere you are.

Also check out the international sub-forums here. If there is one for where you are going, the people there should be able to help out.

Check out these threads for making easy VV box mods. Again, you should be able to order these parts easily anywhere.

Also, there's mail service where you're going right?...there's people here who'll help you when you run out of atty supplies...send you a package filled with treats from home, in little individual sandwich bags, held closed with little kanthal twist-ties...package is tied with wick...just tuggin' your chain Punta:)...you've got the attys which is the biggest deal, seriously though, doesn't matter if you're shipping off to the middle of northern Mongolia, you're always going to find batteries, duct tape and paperclips...if you go with what Tomcatt said and score yourself some nic juice, you'll figure out the rest...you're are about to become one serious Macgyver modder and when you're back, you can show us all how it's really done...

well, now I'm home and managed to find some time to check the forums :)

Don't have my REOs with me, but the Vmod XL has been a champ for the last couple of weeks, refilling the 6ml bottle every couple of days, and using the same carto for a week, so everything looks good so far :)

The only thing that's REALLY annoying is having to explain to EVERBODY "what's that thing?" , but I'm getting better.
Shipping container hasn't arrived yet, should be here in the next couple of weeks, but I'd be busy enough to worry about vaping, that's for sure.

Thanks for the advice and I'll check back later. ;)
