So I have been vaping for about a month and a half now. As of today, it has been 2 and a half weeks since I had my last cigarette. I found myself somewhat obsessed with vaping once I started. I started with the innokin itaste vv3 (which I personally preferred over the classic ego twists), but I found myself wanting to upgrade after 2 weeks. Low and behold, I ended up pulling the trigger on an itaste MVP V2 and have been in love with it from day 1. I did quickly realize that I was a fan of bottom coil tanks over the top coils. I took an evidence tank, drilled the air holes out and chucked the iclear 30 that came with the MVP WAYY off to the side. I eventually got ready to work on taking that next step, so off to the ole internet I go hunting down wire and materials. After doing research and a lot of you tubing, I ended up building a coil with 28g kanthol with a cotton wick. I noticed a lot of people were saying their first builds were failures, so I was a tad nervous. Well after carefully following each step, I was actually successful on my first coil build. Took the factory 2.3-2.4 ohm coil down to 1.3-1.4 ohm resistance. With that resistance and cotton wick, I cranked that MVP V2 up to the Max 11 Watts, then at 5 volts and the flavor is spectacular! That and I haven't had the first burned hit yet. Just thought I would share my first experience and maybe inspire other newbies to not be afraid to start wading deeper in the vape pool. Happy vaping!

Way to go, jwinn! It took me 3 months of steadfastly insisting I was too blind and too stupid to build a coil, before I worked up the courage and/or curiosity to actually try it. I started with my T3S tanks, improved them substantially, so I got a kayfun last week, and a nano kit for it this week. the coil building isn't too difficult, but getting the wires round those tiny screws is a real pain, as well as, knowing how much wick to use! But I'm getting there... I think. Tonight I gave up on the nano kit, it just doesn't taste the same to me as the "original" (a clone actually, tobeco), and I don't know why, so I went to my new Smok UDCT. Cartos have been my standby for a while, while all else seems to be failing or disappointing, and this cartotank is pure brilliance.

Welcome!!! Happy vaping!!! And congrats on quitting, too... that's HUGE!!! :thumb:

You're really pushing the MVP's limits using a 1.3 ohm coil at 5 volts. That's 3.8 amps drawn at 19 watts, and the MVP has a 3.5 amp limit if I'm not mistaken.

Ohm's Law Calculator

The MVP 2.0 doesn't have the luxory of telling you when you're exceeding the amp limit. It'll just simply fire at the highest it can, even if your settings are higher. So if the max you can get out of it is 11 watts and 3 amps, even if you have it set to 5 volts on a 1 ohm coil, you're still only pushing out 11 watts.

Oops - My bad! My mind's been over in the unregulated world the past few days. In the regulated world I don't have to think about any limits as the devise does it all for me.

I been thinking about building but been working so much I havn't got the time.
So mostly I been sitting at work and I been reading and watching videos about it.
So let me say first I am no way a expert or anything.

But I would be careful using a VV or a VW to cloud chase.
From what I read and been told, Mechs are the way to go.
You can get a nice Mech clone for pretty cheap.:)

As for a battery, Sony makes a good battery US18650VTC5 (2600mAh) with a 30 AMP limit.
But I am sure people have different opinons on batteries and which one is better and safer.

My first attempt to cloud chase, (last Monday) a Nemisis clone ($24 fasttech) with a Omega RBA clone ($6.97 Fasttech) and the coil was 0.22 Ohm using a Sony US18650VTC4 battery ($8).
So for around $40 Besides Juice, which I dropped down from 12mg nic to 3mg, not alot of money tied up in it. But alot of people say to use 0mg to cloud chase with. But I figured with a 0.22 Ohm I would be safe at 3mg nic.

And WOW I was amazed at how good the hit was. I thought the cloud was why people dripped and I never thought I would consider dripping but that changed my mind. The taste was like BANG  Cloud wasn't to bad either

Well anyways be careful using that MVP :vapor:

i had been in the same situation as well, in fact just recently! I started vaping 4 weeks ago, and have been clear off analogs for 3 weeks!

i got this Ego Style Starter Kit at a mall one day while walking by, and got interested in it.. Bought one and went online searching for more info on ecigs!

It took me only 4 days before i went to the mall again to upgrade to something better! Bought a Mini Protank 3, and some juices!

4 days later, i am back looking for a mech mod, bought the Sigelei Mini Tiger and A Vivi Niva for spare.. And another 3 days later went back looking for the fogger V4 which i read about in here! This was when i started my own rebuilding..

First attempt, 28G kanthal, 10 Wraps, Dual Coil on cotton wick.. Was told by the shop owner its around 0.7 Ohms, as i did not have a ohm meter yet, never really got to know what is the exact resistance..

Another week later, just last week, went in to get another mech mod as the Fogger V4 was too big for my Sigelei Mini.. Bought the Rj Mod Turtle Ship 2 Clone! Loved this mod!! Also got some cotton wool balls from the local pharmacy, and i am now vaping on the same coil build, but using cotton balls instead of wick, which i felt gives better clouds!

I think its a matter of time before i venture into VV/VW and DNA Box Mods! And also Drippers as well, and i am only 1 month old into vaping!
