First thanks for having me here and I look forward to meeting new vapors who can really teach me everything I need to know to be somewhat of an advanced vapor! To start things off what do you recommend for the best VV/VW mod like the Vamo V5 but what is the best brand for quality and performance to go with. I was thinking the sigelei 30 watt mod but you are the experts, so?

hello and welcome to ecf and vaping......
vaping is such a personal experience so it really just depends on what you like.....do you want something long and cylinder like the vamo/ego types.....or do you want something more boxy like the mvp......or something smaller with good power/battery life like the isticks?
really for the price the isticks are easy to use and great for new/veteran vapers.

Some things to keep in mind:
  • Try to stick to pv's (personal vapors) that have both the 510 and ego connections this way you have all kinds of options when it comes to juice delivery systems.
  • Variable Voltage (vv) = everyone's taste is different so you can set your voltage up or down to help suit your needs as well as different juices and different juice delivery systems (cartomizers, tanks, ect) taste different at different voltages. (how many times can I say different)
  • Variable Wattage (vw) I haven't tried yet but assuming it is the same principle as stated above for vv.
  • Pass-through battery to be able to vape while charging.
  • the higher the mAh the longer the battery life
  • do you prefer a warm vape (top coil) or a cool vape (bottom coil)? top coil vs bottom coil tanks, to each their own...but go with glass or metal so that there's no worries about tank cracking juices.

and then you have what kind of tanks/carts/drippers would you like? ;)

Hello and welcome to ECF, CrazyD. I am far from an expert but I am sure others will stop in and help you with your questions. I started vaping about a year and a half ago. I started with an eGo kit and recently picked up a couple box mods (an itaste VTR and a SMOK XPro65. I have a Nautilus, Nautilus Mini, Kangertech Aerotank V2 and the iclear 30s that came on the VTR). I vap American Tobacco and Black Leaf Tobacco which is the reason for the different tanks. I am sure others will be able to give you better feedback on the choices you are looking for. In the mean time you might want to check out some of the tank specific forums that on here. Of course you won't be able to post in any of the other forums until you have 5 post, so sit back and do some reading while waiting on others. Have a good evening and keep on vaping.

are you buying from a local shop or are you shopping online? You can find all kinds of deals online, once you pin point what you really want to get and ask the folks here....they know where the deals are at :D

and while getting a great mod is key.....getting the right tanks and coils are the real challenge :) finding something to suit your taste......i've heard lots of good about the subtanks.....i usually only drip but have given protanks another shot now that i have my istick 30w and protank mini with air control valve and vertical coils is almost on par with my dripper but it's a tank :)

I wish when I started you could have gotten a istick 50 and subtank for $100 as a starter kit from your local vapor store. Well now ya can and it's so much better. That is what I recently upgraded to over my mvp and emow mega combo. I highly recommend it if you have a buck to spend. Can order online too of course and maybe save some.

Welcome CrazyD. You have SO many options. There are many opinions as well so hang on tight. I think the Sigelei 30 is a fine mod to start with. It fires down to .3ohms and is fairly small. For the price I would buy that over the Istick. Be sure and get a 30 amp high drain battery and have fun. You can buy pretty much any tank you want to and it will/should power it just fine. Just stay away from pure rba/rta tanks for a while until you are comfortable. You can buy tanks that have the option of using factory coils or building your own with an rba deck. For example the kanger subtank. The mini version or the nano version of this tank would match well with the sigelei mod. FYI there is no rba deck for the nano so you are limited to factory coils, but with a .5ohm coil included it is still a great little tank. Also FYI if you use a tank like this you will probably want to install a different drip tip as the ones they come with get HOT. I am vaping the subtank mini right now with the .5 coil on a 30 watt mod set at 24 watts and enjoying it very much. Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
