Hello all, I am a vaper and thanks to this forum I was able to (I thought) make an informed, smart decision on a first buy PV. I went with a Riva from a US supplier. I have not had a very good experience with it at all. I ordered it in hopes it would be superior to the standard eGo device, however after only a few weeks I am down to one dead battery that won't take a charge, and one battery that after only a few weeks has the manual rubber button sticking inside the unit and doesn't work well. The battery life is great and the vapor production is much better overall than my girlfriend's little 510 though.

IDK, I guess I was expecting much more from this thing since I read so many favorable reviews about it but yesterday I just broke down and ordered a "real" ego with a bunch of stuff I never thought I'd use (drip tip, LR atty) so hoping it doesn't disappoint. Is this typical of the Riva models in general?

Anyway this is a great website, and extremely helpful glad I came here before buying one of those xhale models from 7-11 lol

I have seen Rivas sometimes called egos on the package, that came from several different companies based out of china, some looked like crap, and broke, some worked great and are still going strong. I guess it's all about where they are coming out of, if the distributor is buying the cheapest product, or not. I also have a Janty ego, and it has been working good, but I read a while back that some were also having issues and being returned, but they are supposed to have good customer service...I agree, you should contact the place you bought it from, and see what they can do to help you out. It couldn't hurt to try. I just ordered an ego w/passthrough, you should look into that, less than $30 and you have a PT that charges while it's plugged in, and then you can take it with you when you go...

welcome to ecf, fellow bay area vaper. sorry to hear your having probs but don't let it discourage you. let the supplier know and if your not treated right, let us know; we are all trying to do the same thing, get satisfaction from our vaping gear. if there is a supplier not treating people right ,we all want to know.. so give them a chance first, from what i hear most are more than eager to keep their customers happy.. enjoy :) craig

Welcome! Most of the suppliers will bend over backwards to make good on their products. I have been using the same four Rivas since July, and they're all going strong. In all that time, i've never lost any of the original batts or attys, or had any button malfunction, and I'm a chain vaper. I'm positive that when you get your problem sorted out, which you will, you'll love the Riva.

I have the Riva901 from Eastmall. I've have 3 of them in rotation. This is the third month with them and I've not had a bit of trouble. I really love this battery. I use mostly LR atomizers. Eastmall is wonderful to deal with. If you need a lot of stuff or just want to stock up their prices are great. Shipping isn't cheap but if you can order enough it's worth it.

Hi, i'm sorry about your experience with Riva, me myself have 1 set of Riva with 2 batts, and 1 set of eGo for about 3 months now, i haven't get any problems with them. Although Riva batt are 750 mAh, but they lasts just as long as my ego batt. I don't know how it's possible but that's just me. My riva batts aren't showing any degradation yet, and still my primary PV. I keep my ego just for backup just in case. Maybe you just got a defective unit.

I think you had a case of bad luck. I have had my RIVA for several weeks now, and I have not had a single issue. My batteries actually go almost 2 days before I swap them. I have yet to have one go "dead" on me. I had a moment of panic this week, when I left my spare battery at home. I was worried my batt wouldnt survive the day... But it did.

I love my RIVA
