Hi all. Abangler here from Alberta Canada. Cool forum, heres my intro.

I told my wife, a non-smoker, about e-cigs about a month ago after a friend quit smoking using one. Well, she was down in Alabama visiting friends and bought me a V2 standard kit. As far as I know, in Canada, we can't buy them, but she was able to cross the border with them. Went with Red flavor with light nicotine.

Started using the V2 on Monday and have only had two analogs since. The only reason I had those was to finish a pack. I must say, I'm truely amazed at the e-cig. It actually works! I have a feeling I'm actually going to quit this filthy habit. With a 10 month old son, I was really starting to notice him watching me outside, puffing away. Not cool.

I've read quite a bit on the forum and am a little overwhlemed at all the different products and terminology, so I'd like to keep it simple.

From what I gather, the V2 brand is a decent one, with lots of flavors and good battery life. I'm only intending to use the e-cig to quit tobacco, so I'm hoping to be cig free (e-cig and analog) within 6 months. Thats the goal.

Do you think the V2 will last me that long? Any advice for newbs like myself?

Thanks!

Hi Abangler and welcome to ECF. Congrats on your decision and kudos to your wife for buying you an Ecig. My wife is also a non smoker and is sooo happy I'm vaping. The V2 is ok and as long as it gets you off the stinkies it's all good. The V2 is known as a mini ecig and the most common issue is battery life but if you're satisfied with the batt life great. The V2 will only accept 808 threaded accessories. As for Cdn vendors we have many. After 5 posts wait for the ECF servers to reset and request a Cdn Vendors List:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...w-nic-supplier-list-via-pm-only-part-2-a.html
Take a look through the list but I'll guarantee you won't find better prices or the latest gear elsewhere except at www.CANVAPE.com
For juice in your area and he's located just outside Calgary
JUGHEADS.co We've Got the Vapors ! Remember to check his clearance Section for deals. When buying an Ecig- Battery Info: 100 mah= 1 hour normal vaping before recharge.
Cheers.

Hang tight Abangler, I personally know of a V2 that is referring to the Tank with the juice in it. the Vivi nova V2 and I have been hearing that they have had Problems. If you could find a link to your product and post it it would most likely help. though I imagine there are some US citzn’s that would know exactly what you are talking about.

So I will skip that part and just get to the Pat and congrat and Welcome bro part.
Well done for Starting, Congratulations for going for so long (Not that its hard to do with the E-cigs ;) ).
I totally had flash backs when I read about your son watching you (my son is nearly 7 now). I now also have a 2.5 month old daughter and I am happy she will not see me (Often) light up a stinky.

Welcome to ECF Abangler,

The V2 is a KR808-D1 model, so you won't have any trouble finding cartomizers in Canada, once you have gathered 5 posts in here, you can join us in the Canada sub forums and ask for the list of Canadian suppliers. You'll quickly notice we are a cool bunch, and if you have any questions usually people will answer them pretty rapidly. As far as going 6 months with your V2, it all depends on how good it works for you. There is no "best" thing than what works to keep you off the stinkies. I'll wish you the best of luck for your quitting, I remember the first e-cig I received, I quit stinkies forever on that night :)

Keep on vaping

my best advice, being a newbie myself, would be to get a backup..! and even a backup for your backup!
also make sure to have plenty of juice on hand, in different nic strengths and flavors...
nothing worse than either having your e-cig die on you, or running out of juice.. you will pick up a pack of cigs for sure..

what i ran into what i first started was that i was so excited about vaping, i chain-vaped a lot.. and only had the 18mg.. i started feeling hot & flushed.. and wished i had some lower mg nicotine so i could enjoy the act of vaping but not take in as much nicotine... now i go from high mg in the morning (18mg) and cut down to 12 mg, and even 6mg over the course of the day.

Thanks for the warm welcomes!

Bryce, on the V2 website, I have the standard kit.

I seem to be vaping quite a bit right now, so I'll definitely need some new cartridges soon. I was just going to roll the dice and order some more through V2, but it sounds like I'll be able to source some within Canada after a few more posts.

I'd like to keep things as simple as possible, so just buying new cartridges is the way I'd like to go. The "light" nic level seems to be working for me so far, but I am using it quite a bit. Battery lasted me all day yesterday, but I think the cartridge was pretty much empty. Hard to tell, but it didn't taste as good.

Thanks again!

A fellow Albertan! Welcome!

For Canadian ordering, I'll second Vapoor eyes er's recommendations. Those are where I ordered my first stuff a couple of weeks ago. They were very helpful at Canvape, even answering questions over the labour day weekend. I got a wide selection of juices from Jugheads. Good prices, and I've liked everything I've tried from them so far (taste is subjective, of course, but they seem to be well thought of in these parts.)

If you haven't found it already, there's a Canada subformum and someone's trying to organize an Alberta Vape Meet.

Welcome, and good luck!

Sounds like you got some good advice coming your way. My motivation to quit was my at the time 2 year old daughter, so I can relate. My advice is do some research here, and get some improved gear, always keep back up's, and don't be afraid to try new juices. You are in for a wonderful trip, welcome aboard.

808 cartos are not popular and so are hard to find. Prefilled here in Canada almost impossible to find unlike the U.S. Cheapest and best is to learn to fill your own cartos- blanks can be bought but they must be 808. 510 is the most popular threading.
Unless conflator knows of a place closer to you http://www.canvape.com/product-p/808kho.htm
Jugheads and Gentlemens Reserve do not sell 808 cartos.

Good to know conflator. Were you able to order filled cartomizers? I'm starting to worry a bit that I'm going to run out. I only have 5 cartomizers left and I'm going through one a day so far.

What Off Topic said - I'm new and have a different set up than you do, so I'm not familiar with refilling cartomizers.

If someone familiar with the V2 could chime in - will these blank cartomizers fit the V2?

I don't think that Jugheads sells the carts you need. The juice comes in eyedropper style bottles, which you can then use to fill your carts. You should be able to find an abundance of information on that at ECF with a bit of a search.

Sorry I can't be of more specific help on that one....

Vaporgeek has the same ones, they're a buck more. They're in BC - *might* make one day shipping difference. As far as I know there are no Alberta suppliers.

Abanler - yes, you can clean and refill them a few times. Not sure how much life you can get out of them (and always have spares - they're cheap).

Feel free to PM me if you want some impressions on flavours - it's all pretty subjective, and to be honest, the taste is changing as I get my taste back - but I can at least give *my* impressions.

Good luck! Ordering juice is fun.

Or here but more expensive- located in Alta:
Kr808d-1 Bottom coil Cartomizers
Or you could buy an 808 to 510 adapter. Also adds extra length to your PV. Filling cartos is very easy and each one should last about a week depending on the light or darkness of the juice. The HUGE bonus of filling your own cartos is the choice of juices- some amazing stuff out there.
with a carto+ tank before cartos gets tight draw I get:
light juice 80- 90 ml
dark juice 50-60 ml
Key to longevity of a cartos is first fill and keeping it saturated as once the filler gets dry and burnt the burnt taste never goes away. Here's filling vid. Key is to push the carto VERY SLOWLY down into juice.

The Best of Luck.

I started with v2 and they are 808. Do not count on them for shipping-they may send a pkg a week after you order no consistency with that or their flavorings in juice unless things have changed drastically. What will work and should not be a problem for you in a pinch is a seperate atty and cartridge tanks. These are cheap and I used them for quite awhile till better ones came out. Will post link as soon as I find them so this doesn't time out on me.

Sorry I guess they have been discontinued. If you can find a 3.0 ohm 901t atty and cartridges they will work on the v2. They no longer carry them where I used to order. The cartomizers from smokeless image will probably work also since they are 808 and lots here use them. I went with 510 so would not have to be tied to one or two suppliers
