Hello all;
My Name is Josh, I'm from Massachusetts, and I tired my first E-Cigarette on a whim a few days ago (An "original flavor" Blu Disposable) and I loved it. I then bought a Krave menthol, and a Finiti menthol after that one was done. After I realized I had spent 30$ on disposables, I figured I'd just bite the bullet and get something reusable. I did some research, and ordered 2 "KD808D-1" Mega manual XL batteries, 5 blank "Kruger" cartomizers, a KD808D-1 usb charger and 10 ml of chocolate mint non-nicotine e-liquid.
And I realize some people may say it's stupid of me to start smoking these, especially because I've only smoked (half of) one real cigarette(One Newport, at college, with my best friend :p), but I really enjoy smoking. I do tend to smoke a lot of cigars, mainly cheapo-factory made ones (swisher sweets, black n milds, ect.) because I like the taste and doing smoke tricks. I smoke hookah a lot( i have two :p) and I bought some "steam stones", which are rocks infused with glycerin, water and flavoring, which sounds awful similar to e-liquid. They replace the need for tobacco in smoking hookah, so it's a lot healthier than inhaling all the tobacco smoke :p.
So basically, I smoke because I like doing smoke tricks :p Rings, French inhales, stuff like that; hookah allowed me to do that, but I'm thinking e-cigs/ portable vaporizers may be more effective/healthier.

So that's a little about me; I actually ordered all my stuff from this website: KR808D-1 electronic cigarette batteries
can anyone tell me if they're reputable, good quality items, good customer service, what the packaging looks like, ect?

Thanks in advance!

I order all of my supplies other then juice from vapor kings. They ship super fast and i have never had a problem.

Now for the vaping without nicotine, i would advise you to stop. 99% of us look at vaping as the lesser of two evils, there has not been enough research to suggest that it is safe, we just feel that it is safer then real cigs.

I can not see purposely inhaling anything other then air into your lungs as being perfectly safe.

I will get off my soapbox now and welcome you to ECF even if i hope that you give this up.

proggieus, thanks for the quick reply and I appreciate the concern, but I already smoke way too much for my own good, just not cigarettes :p I figure if I vape with no nicotine, it would be a hell of a lot better than all the cigars I smoke and hookah bowls; I'm addicted to the act/smoke aspect of smoking :p
Thanks for the welcome dragonbone, and I hope to stay a while :)

I didn't order a Kit; It would have been more expensive, and I couldn't find kr808 kit with two manual batteries and cartomizers, and charger and liquid :p I got what I needed for just about 50$, I'm basically going for the longest lasting, cheapest starting kit I could make. I read that manual batteries last longer because there shouldn't be any accidental leaking problems to destroy the batteries, and I think I read that kr808d cartomizers are the most popular, and I'm pretty sure they sell them where I work, so I wouldn't have to worry about waiting for liquid if I run out. I almost went with a 501 because I think they're more popular over all, but I didn't want to have to worry about an atomizer and cartridge, and worrying about having to replace atomizers sometimes, and cartridges other times, so I figured cartomizers would be a better choice, and a natural fit for 808's.

and John D, can you possibly post a link to the forum rules or pm them to me first? I can't figure out how to pm and I can't find rules in the FAQ :/

Hey Josh. Welcome to ECF!

Vapor Kings is a good vendor. I often recommend the Kanger cartos, as they have the best prices on them that I can find anywhere. Next time you order from them, use the code VKBC to get 10% off. It has been a while since I ordered from them, so I can't remember the packaging, but it was either a padded envelope or a small box.

Just an FYI, but you don't smoke an e-cig, you VAPE it! Vape on, brother! :)

Right you are; I am now a Vaper, and proud of it!
I'm already looking at a bigger battery and DIY e-liquid; and I haven't even received my first KR808 yet!
Does anyone have suggestions for a CHEAP(under 40$) kit or list of parts I can order from a site that would get me a large battery (600 mah-900 mah) with good cartomizers and a charger? i'm not even sure what kind of model I would be looking at, but I assume it would be an eGo tank, perhaps?

Check out the X2 battery from smokeless image. They sell a 650mah, 1100mah,and 1300mah for between $20-$30 depending on which one you get. The batteries are 3.6-3.7 regulated and last from between 6-14 hours of chain vaping. The reason I recomend that instead of a kgo or ego is because it is 808 threaded. You will be able to use all of the cartos fro, your mini that you ordered on the x2. Smokeless image has a good reputation on here.

For cartomizers, I suggest some bottom coil ce3's and the new clearomizers from smokeless image. You can buy the bottom coil phoenix (ce3) from gotvapes. Smokeless image has said they have these on order and will be carrying them in the next week. The clearomizers they sell have been redone and are branded for them, they do NOT crack or melt from high acidic juices like cinnamon like the older vision one did.

If you check out my video on Smokeless Image, I show the x2 and the cross compatibility with the smaller 808 battery. It also shows the ce3

What MrOutlaw and John D suggested. Go with the Volt X2 to stay with the KR808 threading, a quality regulated voltage (3.6V) big battery device, and SmokelessImage's stellar customer service and support. Go with the eGo-C Twist to switch to 510 threads and get the benefit of variable voltage so you can tweak your experience as you vape. I am happy with my Twist, but I know from previous experience with KR808 stuff that I would be equally happy with the Volt X2. With my Twist, I use standard resistance Kanger cartos at 3.6-3.8V, which is pretty much the same thing as a Volt X2 with the SmokelessImage cartos.

Honestly, I would just play with the kit you just bought for a few weeks, as I believe that will more than suit your needs. As for DIY juices, go for it! That's where the fun will be for you. :)

I agree. I would use what you bought and then see if you need something bigger. I use 808 320mah batteries during the day when I'm at work. 2 of them last me all day. At home, I chain vape and use a 900mah X2, which I have to charge about once every 3 days. The website says the X2 is 3.6 regulated, but it is actually 3.7. I have 4 of them and every one start off at 3.7 and drop to 3.2 for the last couple of puffs before turning off for recharge. You may not even need a bigger battery. I would play with what you have. If you decide to get a big battery, smokeless image has super fast shipping. Normally the product is delivered to your door within 2-3 days using standard shipping.

If you want 510 threading, go with a kgo for a regulated battery or the twist if you want to tinker with the voltage a little. Personally, I like all of my devices to be the same threading so I can use all of my cartos and clearos on the different batteries. Some people don't mind having two different types.

I think, at least for now, I will just wait for my mini to come in and try that out for a while; jixchel, you said "100% vg for vapor tricks"; are you being serious? I understand that vegetable glycerin makes the vapor thicker; would it be possible(assuming I to not care at all about flavor/taste and nicotine content) to just buy USP VG and just use that to fill my cartomizers? I'm looking for a low maintenance route, and it would be excellent if I could just have one (cheaper than flavored e-liquid) bottle that I can buy in a grocery store and fill up cartomizers/clearomizers with it, screw it on to my k808d and vape for a few hours
