I've tried to quit smoking several times. My most successful attempt was with Chantix - I took it for 2 months, and was smoke-free for a year and a half. But, as always, I eventually slid back. I'm happy to say that today I am 3 weeks cigarette free, all thanks to vaping! I can't say I've saved money yet, as I've been online buying new "toys" to add to my collection, but right now it's not about the money, for me - it's about NOT SMOKING! I've gleamed a lot of helpful info and tips from this forum, so I figured I would come out of the shadows and say hello. :)

Tampa, Mike? That's my home :) I've only been in Houston for about a year and a half. Go Bucs! Go Rays! Yeah, I did Chantix twice also. Tried it a few months ago, since it was (semi) successful for me the first time. I flopped the 2nd time - my side effects were out of control. It wasn't too bad the first time, but this time, forget it. Anyway, who wants to take a drug when you can vape? :)

But the Chantix dreams are so cool!

Congrats!! For me personally, until vaping became a hobby I couldn't get off analogs. At first I decided to at least replace the "unnecessary" cigs like when bored or in traffic or something with vaping until I got it down to only one when I got home and one in the morning with coffee. I did that for a while until one night I got home and said: "lemme see if I can just crush the urge with vaping". Needless to say, I vaped up a cloud storm for 15 straight. But hey, to me whatever it took to not smoke a cigarette right? So the next morning I decided to try and replace that morning one with vaping and voila...once I went 24hrs without a single cig then I wasn't so scared anymore. I figured if I did it yesterday, I can do it again today. Now it's roughly 6 months later and haven't taken a single drag(even after giving myself a free pass when I went to Vegas...I didn't even use the free pass). Now, cigs just smell terrible. Vaping is just so delicious with all the bakery and fresh tobacco blend flavors. Ill be honest though, to this day...I still get cravings to light up a cig every now and then(like watching a movie where someone lights up after sex or something lol). But at times like those, I just pick up one of my devices and go to town.

IMHO, vaping is a great tool or supplement to quitting analogs BUT it doesn't completely replace it. Will power is still necessary and as long as you're aware of that you can be prepared to deal with those urges when the time comes.

Congrats again and you're gonna feel great the longer you're off cigs!

Vape on!
