Hi All!
TamJo here from Colorado. Started vaping January of this year and have been posting my experience and lessons learned both about vaping AND my nicotine habit on my blog. Just wanted to post if it would be of any assistance to anyone.

A BIG THANK YOU to ECF! Didn't find you all until I had already placed first order, but is my main resource now whenever I want to research or find something! I tell anyone who sees me vaping and asks me about it to check your forum first before they buy! Just wanted to give a big thank you to all the staff and members here for all the great info, reviews, comments etc. You All Rock!

1st post RE:Smoking (before I even knew about vaping!) Confessions of A Smoker « The Good, Bad and Ludicrous

1st post upon Vaping: Confessions of a Smoker, Part Deux « The Good, Bad and Ludicrous

Update on the vaping experience: Confessions of a Smoker, Continuing Saga… « The Good, Bad and Ludicrous

(P.S. I read the rules and hope I didn't violate any - I tend to wax eloquent and didn't think anyone would appreciate a long-.... post here - - Just sharing my thoughts as a smoker, then a vapor and what my relationship with nicotine looks like as I make the journey.)

Thanks again!
TamJo

I have totally enjoyed reading your journal. You might of been writing about me. Great job. well done. I really connected with you when you talked about the water tower and the uzi. I am still doing analogs (3 a day)mostly because of the placed I used to smoke. But if I ever find my sweet spot analogs are gone. Thank you for the entertaining read. Welcome to ECF.

Great blog!

Loved it... funny and very personal!

I may have gone a different route than you did ( not necessarily better, just different ), I started with a fairly hard hitting e-cig and on a high level of Nicotine and I suspect ( but do not know ) that I have actually increased my dependence on nicotine, but I stopped with the cigarettes ( working in the computer field I will never be able to cal them analogs without laughing ) after the first week.

Then over time I’m lowering the level of nicotine in the juice I am vaping. ( now down to 16mg from 24 to start with )

But I do admit, I suspect I started by increasing my nicotine level just to get off the cigarettes, as nicotine is not the big carcinogen that was hurting me in the first place.

There is no question that I have spent more in the first month with e-cigs than I did smoking... no question at all, it may take me several months to break even, but money was not my goal.

I hope to read more as you progress... your style and wit is a joy to read.

Started to reply individually to each of you and realized: A. it's late and B. Can I really be clever, original and sincere that many times this time of night? LOL

So for you all: My sincere thank you for your kind comments regarding the blog. I enjoy writing and when what I have to say cheers, inspires or just gives a chuckle to someone else, then I'm REALLY Over the Moon Happy! We really do need all the laughs we can get!

And I can again say, unequivocally - Smokers, and now I find, Vapers, are My Kind of Folks.

Thanks again for the welcome, kind words and bonding!

Hmmm....What's that saying? Oh Yes...Here ya go:

"Life: We're all in it together and we'll never make it out alive."

Nite All.

Yeah - Uzi's, water towers, chinese water torture, kicking helpless animals smaller than me - - nothing like lack of your body's chosen fix to bring out the dark side of the force....LOL Still, unless you were only smoking 4 analogs a day before doing the e-cig route, 3 a day sounds pretty good! I've found the challenges to finding the 'sweet spot' have so much more to them than just the analog experience! And I'm a big fan of "enjoying the journey" of personal change and growth....Face it - - with nuclear reactors comprised, do we really have to worry about the 3 cigs we're smokin' a day?? ROFL

@ Astronomer - ROFL! I spent 10 years being the go-between the database section and the end-users - translating computer geek-speak into temp, $10/hour lingo and vice versa - I did wonder who the heck came up with analog as the term to refer to regular sticks - - couldn't we have just acronymed them to NIC (nail in coffin, aka nicotine source...) LOL I started with 24 mg and blew through carts so fast given the joy of chain vaping while writing and/or database coding that I moved up to 36 and set my phone timer to tell me when I'm done (instead of waiting for the burning cig hanging from my mouth to burn my lips....LOL)
I agree that increasing your nic while decreasing the other stuff that goes with smoking NIC (see, we just have to start our own verbiage - it will catch on, you watch - if you don't believe so, remind me sometime to tell you the story about "Fantabulous")
I know the health bene's I've gotten, even when increasing my nicotine intake way outweigh any harm (at least for the last 3 months). I think the e-cig is a great way to break all the other lifestyle habits that just sort of crop up around cigs, without having to be in the 7th circle of hell while breaking them....LOL
And yes, I will continue to post. Part of my 'kicking the habit angst therapy' is writing about my experience - - gives me something to do and helps me to see the funny side of my meltdowns.....LOL

@ Cat in the Playground - Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed!

@ ALL - Could Someone PLEASE tell me how to reply to individual comment instead of posting my fluff all over hades half acre?!? LOL How can I build multi-dimensional databases and save thousands of dollars for businesses and I can't figure out how to properly work a $%#( forum comment to thread task?!?

Ahh well, I figure I'm keeping someone, somewhere entertained with my lack of forum software skills......
