Hello all

I am a smoker of 10 years looking to kick my habit.

Unfortunately I love smoking and find life hard without it.

I bought an ecig kit from miniciggy which was ok for a while but after researching I see I am clearly missing out on what the ecig world has to offer.

Biggest problem with the miniciggy ecig was the weak hit that just wasnt satisfying my craving not just for nicotine but a good hit..

I was hoping someone could point me to a website I can buy a kit with everything I need to start hitting the vapour straight away.

After a bit of research I believe the Ego twist is a good place to start? As a complete novice though I am struggling to find a kit that would provide everything I need.

I am open to alternative ideas if any posters would be kind enough to post links to where I should make my first purchase.

Any advice for a complete newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all! :)

An Ego twist or a Vision Spinner is what you want. There are probably cheaper options out there but I'd go with these folks. They are reliable and will ship immediately. If anything doesn't work, they will have a replacement part or device out to you immediately. Be sure to get a bottle of juice or two.

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

This kit comes with your choice of two clearomizers or some folks might call them tanks but whatever you might call them, they work pretty well. One model is the Kanger that is the bottom coil model. The other options are either the Vision clearo or the Innokin, both of these are top coil models.

If I were you, I'd try one top and one bottom coil model. This will let you try both styles and see which you like better.

We are here to help so please, ask your questions if necessary.

Honestly, my advice, ego twist is really good.
It's more than good enough to start. but...
everyone does upgrade sooner or later so if you know you want to vape.
You could start off with something else.

I started from a Ego-T -> Ego-Twist -> Z-max -> Provari -> mechanicals
Personally used the provari the most for about a good 7 months now.

For the not satisfying throat hit, try higher nic, and if you have a VV device higher voltage could help out too.
and vaping is never going to be the same as smoking.
It helps when you need it but.. sometimes it's just not the same ]:

Welcome to the forum. The MVS kit is what I started on and do recommend it. Went with Twist 650 mAh batteries and should have gotten the bigger ones. Selected the Kanger T3's and they work well. Now also have Kanger EVOD's and are fine. Get extra heads.
I too loved to smoke, but after 30 years, it was time for a change. Vaping is not smoking, but a better replacement I have not found.
You will get a lot more vapor that the cig-a-likes.

Hello and Welcome! Can't offer any suggestions for an Ego starter kit since I jumped right to the Vamo, but you've gotten some great information already. When you do order juice though, I would suggest a few different levels of nicotine. That way you won't end up with something that is either not strong enough or too strong. You can always mix it together to get what your body needs. I smoked 1/2 pad full flavor menthol and thought I would need a higher nic but as it turns out, I made up some 12mg juice and need to drop it down some. Everyone is different. Good luck and Happy Vaping!

Your post could have been mine, a week ago.

I like(d) smoking, and no "e-cig" could match the satisfaction I got from real cigs.

That's up until I got my hands on the following set:

- eGo-C Upgrade Battery (it's also multi-voltage like the C-Twist but in a more compact size)
- Kanger V2 tanks
- RY 4 Liquid (with 12mg/ml liquid)

It's hard to go wrong with an eGo setup and RY4 Liquid.

And just like that, for less than 50 bucks, my smoking days came to quite an unplanned and abrupt end.

I'm on day 9 now, and while I did have an occasional craving (and caved in) for a real cig on the first 2 days, that craving simply vanished on the 3rd day.

About a week with not a single cigarette and I'm starting to get a strong feel to my lungs back.

Vape on, brother

Hey,
It’s a bit daunting getting off Ciggy’s and into E-Cigs. With a little determination and conviction it is easy.
I started a thread that explains how I got started on E-cigs. Here is the link Newbie, How it started!
I now have and currently use Lava tube v2 predominantly, this drives all my atomizers/clearomizers.
I sometimes take the Ego 1100mah Manual with a CE3 out and about, but depending on the location I may take the Lava tube also as a back-up. The new atomizers I have are kind of orientation critical, to not leak. So they are not the best to just throw in a pack to go out. However the old CE3 didn’t mind being upside down.

Vaping at home...I use Phoenix v4 from Vaportek cheapest dripper around.
Nice for tasting different flavors and if you ever DIY E-liquid mixing. Easy to maintain will run on Ego manuals with no Variable Volt.
I use the CE3's when I want to keep an eye on how much Nic I'm consuming. BTW I started on 24mg now on about 10mg.
Start on 18-24 as 24 can have a mean throat hit especially early morning and late night.
I also pass on PG only and use majority VG Mixes 80-100%. VG creates more vapor and less throat hit.
Some may like the TH but I don't any more, I like it to be smooth but not lacking taste or vapor quantity.

The other unit I have evolved to it the AGA Style Cobra/Genesis. It is actually known as Cobra Mini Full Stainless with a mesh wick and rebuildable, it has a 2.5ml tank.
This Atomizer is crazy. But it runs best on VV and the Lava tube does it at a satisfactory level.
Not going for mind blowing Mechanical Sub Ohm psychotic plumes of crazy madness.. Lol
The main idea is to substitute the Nic and try to reduce dependency.
With some due diligence your goals will be realized.

If you want a Lava tube you can get them pretty economically if you search for Lava tube v2.
Not trying to take anything away from any suppliers.
Link Lavtube V2
Its better to buy it in a kit so you get the charger and 2 batteries. Li-Ion and Lava tube’s crank and changeable batteries is a big plus.
The CE3 kits are available in a 5 pack for about $10 there is a video on Youtube by Outlawvaper on how to clean and refill them. A little bit fiddly…but well worth it, just because they work, are fully mobile, tactile and versatile.
When you buy Liquids you need to get some samplers so you can figure out taste preference, this changes as you vape your way through different flavors. I had to bite the bullet as freight delays cause issues with ease of access. I bought 3 x 30ml of 3 different flavors and this kept me going for a couple of months, with ample time to re-order and keep away from the dreaded tobacco #%^$.
Sorry that was OTP (it got censored anyway) but he who shall not be mentioned , still want’s your money and will try anything to get it. At the risk of your demise…
I have nothing against smokers, now I just feel like they need enlightenment. Like an old wise man said "you can lead a horse to water...but you can't make it think"...

Good luck, maybe you will do the same for others after your first hand experience’s..

Thanks all! :)

Here are my recommendations from a reliable supplier

DV eGo Twist Starter Kit - 900mah Stainless

this kit has the top coil clearomizer's

and then get two of these

Kanger eVod Clearomizers

These are bottom coil clearomizers that the replaceable heads will interchange with the Protank (if you order replacement heads I would recommend the 1.8 ohm Protank heads (these have a longer stem for when you decide to get the Protank (which you probably will :) - and are easily rebuildable once you break down and order a Vamo or Provari once VAD (vapor acquisition disorder kicks in  - we all seem to get it - I am 7 weeks into vaping and have spent about $1000 so far but I am single and don't have to justify purchases to anyone - don't judge me)

But this is just my thoughts on it - I use the twist style batteries with the evods whenever I am out and about in public and use the Vamo at home and when I am going to be in the car for extended periods (also got the VV passthru as a back up to my back ups back up)

Good Luck and welcome

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the overwhelming advice.

I think I failed to mention I am in the UK but after shopping around I couldnt find a better value choice in the UK rather than over the pond even with the shipping costs.

We really do get ripped off in the UK.

There is a guy selling fake ego's on the market near me for £30 plus £6 per 10ml bottle of juice.

He wasnt very happy when I asked if they were rip offs but his reaction made me laugh and confirmed I dont wont to be buying anything from him :D

I went with Dakota Jim's suggestion on both the starter pack and KAnger Clearomizer.

Really excited to have these on the way and I will post a thread of my experiences hopefully to help other Newbies like me in the future.

Thanks again all.

Get a twist for a backup and then go to fasttech and get an Innokin svd for 40 dollars. Then pickup a nitecore I2 charger for 14 dollars, and then get 2 panasonic ncr18650pd batteries for 15 dollars. Then you will have one of the nicest setups money can buy at a price that is close to stealing. Also use the coupon code cpaste13spring at fasttech for 5 or 10 percent off, I don't remember which. Then go to sunvapers and get a couple of protanks for 14 bucks a piece and your set-up will be the envy of all your friends.
