Hey Jeremyv, welcome to big battery mod vaping...you'll love it. I don't own a ZMax, but see that it does have low voltage protection. So it should give you some kind of indication that the battery volts are low...maybe the screen or button light will blink like LTs and ProVaris do, but I'm sure one of the Zmax experts here will chime in. Good Luck with your new mod :)

I honestly don't know how fast it takes a trustfire to charge anything, take a look at the output numbers and the maH on the battery, you should get an idea. I let'em rest for an hour or so, no idea what the actual recommendation is though.

I think how charged they are when you get them is determined by a lot of things.

They usually come about 80% charged (unless they've been sitting around the warehouse a couple of years). You can take a few tokes to check things out...then charge them fully.

You might want to mark the batteries "1" and "2" with a permanent marker and altaernate which way you stack them each time. Keep your batteries in their original pairs. Dont' go mixing brands and ages with batteries. Keep them in "sets". Let you batteries rest after charging. Usually between 15 and 30 minutes is sufficient. Longer is better. I also wait and let the battery rest a bit after taking from my APV to charge before putting it in the charger. You do NOT need to "fully discharge" the battery at any time. They don't have any memory, so just charge when you think you need to. Topping off before a full discharge might prolong the life a bit.

You should get some sort of warning if the battery is getting low. Flashing light, a "Lo" reading on the screen. Something. Or else it'll just have a weak vape or even "sputter" and act weird. That's a sure sign it's low.

Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for all the help. My mini zmaxx and vivi novas came in a little while ago. Batts are charging. The mini only uses one 18350 so I don't think I will need to mark them but will keep that in mind if I ever get the full size and stack them. As for care should I clean them once in a while and oh ya don't know witch way battery should go in I thing flat side against spring. I know silly question.
