ok, before i found this forum i ordered a health e-cigarette starter kit. In trying them i know that these e-cigs are going to work for me.

the problems:

they taste more like cigar or pipe tobacco
they scratch my throat (i ordered the 6mg nicotine)

what i would ultimately like to do is to find a tobacco liquid that isnt so harsh (i am used to smoking marlboro lights) and to buy a 510 (by a cheap and efficient USA based company).

can anyone help me on these two issues?

TIA

I am fairly clueless but I've read the forum for a couple of weeks, so wait until you get at least one more answer. Re US vendors to check for the 510, a lot of people seem to recommend Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.. I bought a different e-cig and ended up using myPVshop.com Electronic Cigarettes - Buy online from our retail shop because you could customize starter kits there and they had the colors and accessories I wanted for the model I bought. If you want to see more 510 colors from a US vendor, check Joye eGo | Joye 510 | Electronic Cigarette supplies | Batteries, atomizers, cartomizers, e-Liquid and more! - they are in the US but I know nothing about them at all.

And don't forgot the discount codes! I got an extra 10% off my order with a code.

Re the juices - I will be interested to see people's replies since I am awaiting my stsarter kit and am an ultra lights smoker. If you have trouble getting responses you could try advanced-editing your question and change the title to something more specific like Good US 510 vendor? Good Lights-tasting juice? - just a suggestion.

(weird - the forum changed my simple links into descriptive ones haha)

The harshness could be from the amount of PG in the juice. The higher the amount of PG, the greater the TH you're going to get. VG will smooth out the throat hit and give you more vapor. It will also add a bit of sweetness to the juice, but it can also mute some flavors.

Tobacco flavors are never going to taste like your analogs, no matter what you do. I'm not really a big fan (yet) of tobacco flavors, but I like the RY4 flavor. Other people here will give you some suggestions for tobacco flavors and where to get them.

Sounds like you started the same way I did, with a proprietary e-cig. Mine was a 3 piece system (510ish) and tasted like poop. My juice supplier was my neighbor and I knew next to nothing (I still know next to nothing...LOL).

I came here, educated myself and I am going with a KR808D-1 two piece system. I am buying small 5ml or less sampler bottles from numerous vendors in varying strength 6mg - 18mg and PG/VG content. I will find my vape with one of these buys.

I went with a two piece because for me three piece e-cigs are a hassle. Filling a carto is as easy as filling the plastic cap 1/2 with juice and slowly sliding it on...which fills the carto..tap it a couple times and its done....no mess, no fuss if using a manual batt you dont even have to take the carto off...just fill from the mouth side, then hold it by the carto and shake the e-cig like you would an old mouth type thermometer (to move the Mercury down), but in this case you are moving the juice toward the atomizer, take the plastic cap off, wipe it and vape.

Good idea on your part to get a better PV than the one you first got. I would suggest, however, to get the better battery 510 which is called an "eGo". The regular 510 batteries only last about an hour whereas the eGo's batteries will last 5-7 hours.

I also used Marlboro Lights and seached for an e-liquid that was similar. Basically no e-liquid will be just like analogs. That being said, the one I found that came the closes to what you smoked is KENT flavor from:

Atomizers - Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes!

The scratchy throat is normal for new users getting use to vaping. For most it goes away after a week. If you want to switch to vaping completely, you may find that 6 mg nic strength is too weak. That is one of the weakest levels but if it works for you, stay with it. Many of us who smoked the same kind you do, found we needed 24mg nic strength (which is the same as Marlboro) to successfully make the switch. So if you find you still crave an analog, consider getting 24mg e-liquid and experiment.

Good Luck

I been using the 808 for about 3 weeks now without a prob. I got mine from Vapor4life. Pretty good selection over there. I did however (to save on carto cost) learn how to refill with juice. Only thing I can say negative so far is the batt life. The PCC heps but I diddnt like carying that girly looking thing arround. The guys at work gave me crap. I did alot of research and splurged on a GLV2 5v Mod. I here the vape is great, tons of vlavor, and the batts last all day without switching back and forth. The thing is practically indistructable. I will def keep my 808 for going out and about (short trips), GLV looks kind of suspicious if you know what I mean, most people arent educated to what e cigs are yet. I will post more about the GLV2 once I use it for a while. Hope I helped.
