Welcome to ECF!! .:toast:

Getting a headache could be a few thing, a bit too much nicotine may cause it, and dropping down to maybe 12mg would help. Also not drinking enough water, vaping will dehydrate you a little, a few extra glasses of water might help. Vaping is different from smoking in that it is easier to over do it sometimes, your e-cig won't burn down to the filter....:)

The other big cause of "side effects" is simply from quitting smoking. This link has a long list of possible symptoms....http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-vaping/3305-list-symptoms-when-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html#post51773 They are only POSSIBLE symptoms, everyone reacts a bit different.

I second the welcome to ECF!

Stosh is absolutely right; after a month of not smoking, it's very likely just a side-effect of cigarette withdrawal, but it could very easily be from dehydration, which can give you a headache.

For myself, I get headaches from not enough nic; too much just makes me nauseous and gives me a stomach-ache, but it could be the other way, too, from too much. 18mg is pretty high, so if you're not having massive cravings, maybe go down just a bit, and see if that helps.

You didn't mention your PG/VG proportion; once when I vaped much too high a level of PG, it really blistered the inside of my sinuses, and my throat, so if you're using a lot of PG, it could be something along those lines too; everyone seems to have a different threshold of tolerance for PG, from can't take it at all, to those like me who usually vape 80%-85% on a daily basis -- but if I go to 90%, I know now to not do it for more than one day, or risk that blistering irritation again. But irritated sinuses obviously can cause a bad headache.

Welcome, and hang tough! :thumb:

Welcome to ECF, congrats on quitting smoking. Stick with it! takes a bit of tweaking to find what works for you.
Ditto on all above, emphasis on drink more water.
I found that after the first month my 18 and 24 mg nicotine juice were too harsh and dropped down to 12.
Are you only vaping one flavor of juice? if so, maybe try out a few others. I get a nasty buzzy head rush from some juices that have too much on the food coloring or fruity flavorings. Again, everybody is different, so part of vaping is about tweaking your likes and dislikes.

I vape as I can during the day, so I guess it is less. But, in the evening, relaxing in front of the TV, I vape a lot more. To avoid over-indulging, I use a lower nic content. It requires that I have more juices, but it really helps.

Vaping is just relaxing so I sit and enjoy it. I just don't need all the nic then.

I keep several toppers with the lower nic.

I also have a higher nic for my morning coffee. It is a chocolate peppermint. It just helps me get sorted.

Hope helps

Real cigs have 2 differences from most vapor. One is that the nic is far more sudden and noticeable, so less chance of nic buildup overdose. If the headaches are during or after (maybe even next morning) your evening vape sessions, could be too much nic. The other is that they do have a bit more relaxative effect. When I first tried going the whole work day with only vapor I'd get headaches late in the day. Was still smoking at night so they'd usually go away. IF you're sure you won't get pulled back in to smoking, you can experiment with a single cig or even just a few puffs (especially as you've already gone a month) a little before you'd get headaches. If that helps, look into Whole Tobacco Alkaloids (WTA) juice, e.g. wholecig.com, aromaejuice.com . May be psychological but these have helped me move towards getting rid of those last few puffs a day.
