When you're comparing the differences between 1.5 Ohm Coils and 2.0 coils, there isn't much of a difference on variable voltage/wattage mods because as you said, you can adjust accordingly. Where this comes into play more often is for people who either use mechanical mods, fixed voltage mods, or the high/low ends of the spectrum when it comes to voltage. If you're using an entry level VV mod, a Provari, or a DNA 30, you always have the option to adjust for taste.
