Newbie question about puffs and smoking habits

Hi,

I am completely new - I smoked my first e-cig today. Unfortunately a VUSE (I didn't start reading here until after I bought it), which tasted horrible and was much too strong for me, plus the battery lasted only about 2 hours.

To start off, I have a very basic question: How many/how often to e-cig users usually take a puff? I understand that this must vary a lot, but coming from smoking normal cigarettes, I am used to this "you go outside for 5-10 minutes and puff away" rhythm. Do (most) e-cig users even do that? Or is it more common to take one puff here and one puff there (instead of 30 puffs within 10 minutes)?

I also used up my cartridge really fast, even though it felt to me that I hadn't smoked the equivalent puffs to a pack of cigarettes at all. It felt maybe equivalent to 4-5 cigarettes. With normal cigarettes, I smoke about half a pack a day (although it takes me a lot of discipline to stick to that and sometimes I fail and smoke one pack). Anyway, I was surprised that I went through the battery (twice) and through the whole cartridge in less than a day, and I wonder if I just misunderstood the whole concept a bit.

Thank you!

Ralja

Hi, and welcome!

I've only been vaping for 3 weeks. Managed to quit altogether in a day. Thanks to tanks. I bought Blu, thinking I'd use my tank at home, and use the Blu at work. Didn't work out that way. Cig-alikes generally suck. I've also tried Smoke-tip, and they are equally horrid.

When I started, at the very beginning I was still in the rhythm you speak of. I smoked a pack a day for 25 years. I had to remind myself that I didn't need to vape the whole tank before I put it down. :) Once I broke the habit part of the habit, I established a new one. I puff here, then a puff there, etc. If you straight up quit and replace it with vaping, I notice it's normal to suck on the thing constantly until you're used to not having a cigarette. Then it becomes more enjoyable, IMHO, when you don't feel you HAVE to do it.
