After nearly a month "lurking" ECF I have decided to join so I can have some e-cig pros help me out!! I quit analogs a month ago tomorrow! I started off with cheap Eco-Cigs (I believe they are model E9) from a nearby gas station and they were good enough to help me quit. When I did't feel satisfied with these, I bought South Beach Smoke starter kit (I think these are KR808D-2....and yes, I know, I was sucked in by marketing and lack of knowledge!!) Needless to say, they didn't live up to expectations. I have ordered e-liquid and blank cartos for both have found some great flavors so I have been buying and refilling blank cartomizers with them. I have serious issues with battery life for both, and cartos don't hold up too long either. I will soon be traveling out of the country for about a month and a half, so I need a reliable e-cig that can hold a charge and good refillable cartos since I will not be able to purchase more overseas. I prefer ones that look like traditional cigs and if they could be compatible with my current chargers and cartos that would be great, but if there is an easy to use, really reliable one that doesn't look like an analog I will give it a try. I guess i can spend about $60. Any suggestions? By the way, I used to smoke about a pack and a half to two packs per day, and I had been smoking for nearly 18 years:unsure: so I guess I would be considered a heavy smoker (wow, I hate to admit to it!) E-cigs have been a life-saver and I'm really pleased with the switch, but I'm losing my patience with the e-cigs I currently own. I'd really appreciate your help!

Hi and welcome to ECF. The Volt at Smokelessimage is cig sized and very highly regarded. Understand though the battery life is not that great. An 1100 mah Kgo would do you fine although it's the size of a sharpie- starter kit sells for around $40.00
cartos don't hold up too long either.
If cartos aren't first filled properly/ completely staurated they burn out very quickly.

kgo V2 vision kit

If you get the 1100 mah version you should be all set. Total cost is 49.75 plus shipping. May want to pick up extra cartos but from what I hear you can make the V2 clearos go for weeks.

Yes, get that one in the 1100mah version. Those clearomizers work well, much better than the junky cartos that come in a lot of kits. And unless you will always be able to charge your batteries on a USB port, be sure to get BOTH the US and the EU wall adapters if you'll be overseas. One KGO 1100mah battery will last all day unless you are chain vaping. I vape pretty heavily and mine still lasts all day.

I would also pick up a couple of extra clearomizers in case you lose one or burn out one or two of them. The great thing about the clearomizers is that they don't leak. And it's easy to see how much juice is left in them, unlike a regular cartomizer. And they fit perfectly on the KGO with no adapter needed.

BTW - The clearomizers are like sucking through a straw and leak more then anything else ive used. Also looks odd like your smoking a .... or something. I would go with a carto. But ... My wife and friend likes the clearomizers the best .. so everyone is different.

Joye eGo-Tank Mega Atomizer - Type B ---- Thats my fave atty/tank system. NEVER fill the tank over 1/2 full or youll get dry hits caused by not enough air in the tank to let drops out of the bottom. Ive never had a leak from this thing .. And boil in distilled water every week 1/2. Been using same atty for 1 month with great results. :)

I have a joye ego-t that works great. I just bought a modded carto with a tank. It took my ego to a new level. I understand the Kgo is similar to the ego but with a longer lasting battery. I think you'll appreciate it more than the ones that look like a cigarette. I found starter kits online for 27.99 plus shipping.
Regarding charging overseas: they can plug into a computer using the USB charger that comes with the starter kit.

Thank you all so much for your input and suggestions. I am leaning towards the KGO V2 Vision Kit. I just want to make sure I purchase everything I need, because I've been bouncing around other threads on the subject and lots of stuff comes up that I'm not all too familiar with yet. For the record, I like the sweeter PG flavors like caramel, 555, and menthol now and then. Funny, I used to smoke Marlboro red or PallMall and I've learned to love the flavors that don't taste at all like analogs...guess it's a good thing because the thought of those analog flavors is not appealing anymore! :) I guess my main concern is if I buy the KGO V2 Vision Kit, do I need something other than more cartos/clearomizers? Do I need SR or LR, the sweet vapes website recommends SR for this kit but I've seen other threads with different recommendations. Throat hit is important and I know that this can depend more on the PG/VG ratio and nic level, but will SR or LR carts also influence it? Also, maybe a stupid question, but can you fill up these cartos and carry them around for quick changes on the go or would I have to have the e-liquid bottle with me at all times? If there are any other recommendations or suggestions ya'll have I'd really appreciate them before taking the plunge! Thanks again everyone for helping me find "the one"!

The kgo V2 Vision kit is pretty complete in and of itself. Since you pretty much know what juices you prefer, and you'll be using a clearomizer, you won't need an atomizer for testing.

Besides a 220V adapter, you really only need some spare clearomizers. Sweet-Vapes recommends the standard resistance because they don't want to hear a bunch of complaints from noobs who have been using gas station e-cigs and will be perfectly happy with the output of a SR clearo.

I'd advise you get a mixture of both SR and LR. Their LR is not all that low anyway, at 2.1-2.4ohms. These clearomizers are available as low as 1.6ohms.

The resistance of a clearo does have some effect on perceived throat hit, but the nicotine level is the largest factor. The lower resistance LR will feel warmer and is more appropriate for tobacco flavors. If you were vaping fruits and flowers, I might recommend the SRs.

You can fill them in advance, but you'd have to be careful with handling them. I wouldn't put a couple in my pocket, if that's what you mean. You can probably get away with bundling a couple tightly in a ziplock in a purse or briefcase though. Pre-filling and ease of travel is where regular cartomizers shine. Clearomizers are a bit trickier.

Honestly, I'd suggest just carrying empty ones and a bottle. You can fill one up in 10 seconds. It's very easy and they hold 1.6ml, so you won't have to do it very often, maybe once or twice a day. If you vape the same flavor all day, or can find somewhere to do a quick rinse-out, you don't even need an extra clearo, except maybe as a backup.

I use the ego t system ... with diff attys. Just looked at a kgo on a website and it looks no different at all other then 100mah more. no big deal. Whats the hype for 15.00 more? What am I missing for the kgo to cost more then the ego?

I now want a DSE901 for more discreet public use.

Usually, the eGo-T costs more for a 3.4V battery and the privilege of a leaky, flavor dulling, tank system and the requirement to buy a certain brand of atomizers to maintain it.

The kGo comes with battery that provides from 4.2 to 3.7V and doesn't have all that tank baggage that most people eventually ditch in favor of regular clearos or cartos anyway.

I've never seen an eGo-T full kit, with 2 batteries, for $30 except from some Chinese place nobody's ever heard of. Have you? A full kGo kit is usually about $45. Maybe you're shopping at the wrong places.

Hey everyone! I got my KGO starter kit today! Soo happy and ready to check it out, however I think I might have a bad battery? When I charged the first one, the wall unit light was red and the USB end of it flashed red and green and then solid green telling me it was fully charged-so far so good. But when I put the second battery in the charger, the blue LED light flashed 3 or so times, the wall light is red and USB is solid green but it is not charged at all or working like the other one, the blue LED will not light up when pressed...basically nothing is happening! Am I doing something wrong or should I contact Sweet-Vapes immediately to see if I can get another battery?

NEVER MIND! I just realized the battery had the off feature when pressed 5 times quickly:oops: how dumb do I feel now! Anyway, loving the KGO so far, Sweet-Vapes was really quick getting it to me. I saw sailor man recommend a few things to someone else in a different thread so this is was I got:
KGO Black Atomizer Kit 1100mah
1.7 XLS cartomizer
V2 Vision LR clearomizer
V2 Vision SR clearomizer
510 Wide Bottom Acrylic mouthpiece
Definitely glad I got the clearomizers and extra cartos because the atomizers included where not too useful. Have one clearomizer filled up with my caramel liquid and a carto with 555. I also got a sample of coconut so I used the atomizer to test them out. AWESOME!! Thanks for the recommendations, this is what vaping should be like! Too soon to comment on battery life but I'm sure it'll be better than my previous e-cigs.

Haha..Don't feel dumb. You're not the first person to be fooled by the 5-click thing.
Once you have those clearomizers filled with your favorites, and you have some new juices to try, those atomizers will be a lot more useful than they've been so far. That's what they're for, as well as backups in case you run out of cartos. You can always use them for dripping, in a pinch.
