Hello everyone,

After reading SO MUCH information here, I thought I would write a quick note to say thank you. I've been looking for a cool gift to give a friend of mine who will be turning 40 soon. We enjoy the occasional cigar on weekends but the last time we met, we had a few cigars too many and weren't feeling too good after.

I figured now was the time to quit the cigars, and an e-cig seemed like a perfectly good gift. Of course, I got one for myself too ;) two sets of EGO batteries, charges and clearomizers. and juice of course... I should be receiving everything on wednesday.

I'm really hoping this will work out, but I do have a feeling that I might try a few liquids and possibly different gear before I find THE ONE(s) for me. I went through the same thing trying to find a usable straight razor and shaving brush a couple of years ago. I'm sure all the e-cig kits work fine, but they probably all have their little differences/quirks.

My wife own's a home soap making business, so I already have VG and PG at home. I might try DIY at some point just for fun. I must be the only guy here who walks to the pharmacy for PG and says "it's for making soap" who is actually telling the truth LOL. I've done soaps too, so a bit of mixing and chemistry doesn't worry me too much.

Looking forward to chatting with all of you

Charles

Welcome to the ECF - good luck and enjoy

Don't fall down the equipment rabbit hole (like I did - doing small step upgrades every couple of days - $$$ add up - tried to convince credit card company I have an evil twin but they didn't buy it) - if you think you are really going to like vaping buy the right equipment sooner rather than later

My new favorites are the Kanger Protank and Evod (interchangeable replacement heads) on my Vamo VV/VW (at home and in car) and ego twists VV (at work and socializing)

thanks for the tip, i'll try to avoid VGAD (vaping gear acquisition disorder) lol. It took quite a bit of reading to wrap my head around how everything worked. atomizer, cartomizer, clearomizer, VV, LR, etc :) The eGo/clearomizer seems like a pretty good beginner kit. A good baseline if you will. From there i'll see what I like and dislike.

The Protank seems really cool with it's Pyrex tube and replaceable everything, but ti doesn't look very discrete. Probably great to use at home or in the car.

I'll write back when I have everything... :)

Obsessed? Ummmmm.... My husband and I have only been vaping a couple of months, and have been cig free for a month. We are both obsessed at this point, with a juice collection growing at an alarming rate (we want to try them ALL!). The ego twists were our starters, and are great. I'm now waiting on my Provari Mini, and he has an Atmizoo Roller mod coming from Greece. It can get very addictive.

Still 2 days to wait for my gear to arrive in the mail... this is bad.. very bad... I had time to find Vapor Joe's site and get more stuff... luckily he finds great deals. And everyone here told me I needed two... or was it three? four? batteries.. lol.

I'll be using this thread to keep sort of a log of my newbie experience.

Maybe it will help others down the line..
