Well, I didn't want this to end in a discussion about what device with what batteries to get. We chose a joyetech 510-T with automatic batteries, which I think is a device to like and to start with. And I hope that's what's going to happen :)

If she likes it, she can still upgrade to a Janty NEO or Joyetech eGo-C later. No need to hurry and the similarity to a "normal" cigarette is a good thing for her. Cheers!

Yes G6 is two piece & Element is 3 piece. I believe the G6 has a bit of a longer battery life also.

Thank you, nansc :)

@player30: I'm a bit confused, though. The G6 is with cartomizers/cotton and their Element E-Cig is the one with atomizer/tanks (510-T), right? Apart from that - they have awesome names for liquids :D I will pass this on definitely. Thanks again!

You could have done worse than a Joyetech 510. She could have ended up with a Blu or a Greencig or worse!!
I started with a Joytech. It stopped my 35 year, 3 pack habit in one day and I was happy with it for a couple months.

When she needs to replace a battery or two, and she will, she should get at least one manual battery to try out. It'll take all of 2 minutes to get used to and then she'll be ready when she upgrades to a better PV. She will almost certainly upgrade. Almost everyone does. None of the better PV's have automatic batteries, at least none that I'm aware of.

I know that you didn't solicit advice on what to get, and don't seem to be inviting it, but please ponder this:

In light of your sentiments quoted above, which is better: a device that looks more like a cigarette but doesn't deliver as good an experience, or one that looks less exactly like a cigarette, but gives Auntie maximum enjoyment? To me, it's all about the hit, and far less about what the damn thing looks like. And I doubt that anyone is about to mistake a 510-T for an analog, are they? And are you really looking at a PV while you're using it?

Especially with older people, you might just get one shot at this. If the first experience isn't great, they might not give it another fair shot. I've never understood putting looks before performance and ease of use.

OK, before you write me off as an irredeemable jerk, I offer this in my defense:

Not being familiar with the 510-T, I went to Joyetech's website, and it seems to be screwed up, displaying the exact same pages for the 510 and the 510-T, leading me to beleieve that despite the nomenclature, the 510-T wasn't a tank system. (510-T(errific)? 510-T(op Notch)?

Exhibit A:

I just didn't want your Aunt to have to deal with crappy little cartridges, when tanks seem so much better. I've since read quite a few good things about the 510-T, and am more than convinced that you're on top of things. Cheers back at ya.

Thanks for your replies!

@John D in CT: Indeed, the website is a bit confusing. It really only becomes obvious once you check the page of the starter kit. They even call the single tanks "cartridges"... Dooh! But it really is just an eGo T/C atomizer with a smaller tank and smaller battery.

About "similarity to normal cigarette": I didn't mean the looks as to be mistaken for a "normal" cigarette. I rather meant the handling and the feeling of it in her hands.

I'm optimistic she will like it :) And hopefully my uncle won't get too annoyed cleaning, refilling and fiddling with it ;-)
