I smoked cigarettes from 18 to 25 years old. I switched to smokeless tobacco at 25, and been doing it for the last 13 years. My wife, a smoker, switched to vapor last Friday. She purchased the Kanger E-Smart starter kit. I decided to quit dipping, and thought I would give the e-cigs a try to help me quit. I bought a Blu disposable to try, and also using the second battery and a tank from her starter kit, to compare the two separate technologies. The Blu worked really good for the first 3 draws, then nothing. The Kanger is still just as good as the first draw. I have decided to get my own starter kit. I have been doing allot of reading since Friday. I like to try to get all the info I can in order to make the best decisions. I have narrowed it down to the Kanger e-smart kit, or the Joyetec Ego-c kit. Both are available at my local VApor Kings store, with the Ego-c being about $25 more. The Ego-c does not have the visual type tank to allow you to see the remaining juice. I would like to get the Ego-cc since it allows the visual of remaining juice, but the local shop does not sell it.

Am I on the right track? Any info, or anyone use both of these? So far, the vape is working for me. I have been a can to can and half user of Copenhagen for a while. Since I started the Vapor Friday evening, I have had 2 dips. I am excited that I have cut that much out, 2 dips compared to 2 or 3 cans is a great accomplishment for me.

Thanks in advance for any and all comments or suggestions that will help me out.

Is the Ego a better buy than the e-smart?

I don't know if better is the term I would use. It is an ego type connection which has threads that are compatible with a wide variety of juice delivery devices, like the iclear clearomizers, kanger evods, protanks, etc...

Well, your posting in a great forum, your off to a great start!
Congrats to your "slowing down" (soon to snuff out the dip, if my guess is correct), and if I my be so bold... to your better half as well ;)

Most importantly, your doing it right... much easier if both of you quit at the same time. Hey, 2 anniversaries a year, she'll love it!
Still too clueless to give you any good advice, but the FAQ and tutorials on this site are awesome.

What he's trying to say is, it's still a battery and can provide the same essential purpose of an ego type threaded battery.

If you or the wife are content with buying the attachments for that type of battery and don't plan on "getting to crazy" it will probably work just fine. I found that the ego style battery, with both 510 and ego threads make it so you can use a very wide variety of attachments

Tanks, cartomizers, clearomizers etc.

Some of the different batteries out there are not " supported " as widely in the attachment market.

In the beginning, it's whatever helps you quit. But if you plan to play around with attachments, I'd say you buy an ego style kit. And then you have the option of trying different attachments that may not be offered for that style battery.

Thanks. I have been browsing the forum for a couple of days. I noticed everyone's nice to each other, and non-judgmental of each other, so I decided to join. I am an avid competition shooter, and belong to a few other forums, so I knew I would get good answers from experienced users from a direct source. You are correct in your guess of me snuffing out the dip all together. I am very excited to be rid of it, and I honestly can not believe it has been as easy as it has been. I know that is because I am still getting nic from the vapor, but it is so much safer than the dip.

I would suggest getting the joyetech ego-c kit if your not concerned with price. The batteries are ego twists, which are variable voltage, and will take any other 510/ego top such as evods, pro tanks,or t3's.You would have much greater compatibility and ease of replacement should anything fail. And the ego-c work pretty good in my opinion,as I bought a couple of the cone and base assemblies to use on my egos. They are light and good for when your out and about running quick errands where you don't need to have a large juice capacity.Just my two cents, hope it helps.

I think you'd be happy with the joye product. I have been using the eGo C tank system since Christmas and love it. The tanks are clear so you can see the remaining amount if you tilt it back. I'm waiting on a CC to arrive tomorrow. I do have a couple ismoka BCC's that are pretty cool that I picked up from my local Vapor Hub, they screw right onto the Joye batteries. I would like to add that my joye eGo batteries are 8 months old and are going strong, as are a couple of the Type A attys that have outlasted most of the other brands that I read about here on the forum.

Another thing I'd like to add is that I used to chew from time to time and found Swedish Snus was an excellent replacement when I wanted something in my gums. Much better for you but be careful, they will give that first nicotine buzz again that you had the first time you chewed.

Congrats on going tobacco free!

The battery's in my ego c kit are not twists. Joyetech kits are this way. Some places put kits together with twists instead

The one she bought, the Kanger e-smart is a KR8 style from what I read. I am still learning terminology, etc... I am gathering that the EGO or 510 is the better way to go for future customization???

The ego batteries have both 510 ( inside threads ) and ego threads ( outside threads ) so both attachments listed for 510 or ego work. And yes for future customization my experience so far is that there is alot more options for these two types of battery threads. And the ego style battery's have both.

You're on the right track with the egos anything that fits a 510 connection will carry over when you decide to upgrade later. Welome and good luck !

In theory yes, but the ego threads are also used for some attachments as some people feel, including me. That it makes larger attachments more secure.

But having ego and 510 in one battery still make the ego style battery a bit more widely compatible

Ah, I did not know that eGO threads and 510 threads were different. Thanks.

    I love pics

My ego c battery, but all egos are this way from my understanding.

Inner threads are 510, outer threads are ego. 2 in 1 basically

    ygypydyn.jpg

Here's an example, a boge 510 cartomizer screwed into the inner threads.

Kanger mini protank using the ego threads.

Im a noobie as well and just want to say congrats. I also started vaping a few weeks ago and haven't went back to cigs. I ssmoked for almost 20yrs so being able to pick this up and not look back is awesome. I bought the storm battery from vapor king online and you can put many different tanks on top. For me I thought it would be cheaper than smoking which it has been so far but I'maalready looking to upgrade. So you can spend the money just as easy doing this.. Well congrats again and good luck
