Hey All!

Long time listener, first time caller. Really excited to be posting here on the forum which has been a completely invaluable resource on my vaping journey.

So last week I finally got my Joye Ego from Healtcabin and have just been blown away by how awesome the whole experience is. I spent weeks reading up on the forums and watching videos on youtube etc, and went pretty wild on my first order.

Overall I'm really happy with with the experience, and while I know it will take some time to really get my head around it to make the transition from analogs, the one thing that I am really struggling with replicating is that awesome aftertaste you get from analogs. Where the flavour sticks around for a 10-15 minutes after you finish it.

Now I've got heaps of new juice coming in from a few different distributors, (the wait and cost for shipping to Australia is hard!) but right know i'm just playing around with about 10 different Dekang ones from HC, ranging in strengths, both VG and PG. I've been mostly direct dripping, but have tried the regular carts as well as the cartomisers. No matter what, I just can't seem to 'sustain' the flavour. It sort of gets there on the tip of my tongue, and then disappears, always sort of leaving me wanting more.

Most of my searching on the forum showed that people were getting nasty aftertastes with primer and such, but thats never happened to me yet. I actually *do* want an aftertaste, and I was wondering if this is a juice-specific thing, or it just doesn't happen with vaping. Just wondering if any other newbies (or veterans) out there have been in a similar boat, and if anyone has any specific setup that they recommend, either hardware or juice-wise to get that effect, I would love to hear!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome bobothebikie! :)
I'm new at this as well. I haven't been able to try too many liquids yet. I haven't found any so far that leaves an aftertaste. I imagine the stronger ones would like maybe cinnamin or mint. That sorta thing. I'm sure someone will be able to give you more advise than me. Just wanted to welcome you aboard!
Good job on getting an Ego to start with. :)
Good luck and have fun!

Welcome, Bobo! This could have been a posting of my own from a few months ago. In fact, it just about is. You may well hear from a few who consider the relative "cleanness" that way a virtue of vaping, but I feel your pain. (It may be part of why I still smoke just a few every day.) Best you can do, is find some robustly flavored juices. I find, for example, the Tasty Vapor's Tobacco has a nice, slightly oily (for lack of a better word) feel in the mouth. Doesn't hang around like cigarette tar, but I find its a presence more noticeable than others.

Yeah, I think that's going to happen. Missing residual toxins in your mouth will strike a lot of people like fond memories of the smell of burned hair after sticking your head in a pizza oven.

In the end, smoking is smoking and vaping is vaping. Not every aspect of one can be recreated in the other.

When I first started vaping, I saw it as a crutch to support a limb I'd just amputated. Naturally, I did everything I could to make the crutch resemble the missing analog, with limited success. Even the tobacco flavors I tried tasted like tobacco--unburned tobacco.

I believe your best bet is to give vaping--in its own right and for its own reasons--a little time to grow on you. It will.

yeah, this.

When I smoked, I used to sniff my hair during the day. I could smell the smoke on it and it smelled really good to me. Now that I vape my hair smells like shampoo most of the time so when I go to sleep I find that I'm smelling my pillow because it smells so clean and nice. I don't really miss the smoky hair smell, I just replaced it with the sweet smelling shampoo pillow smell.

If you keep at it, you'll notice little changes like this.

Hi bobo, Welcome to the forum. I know exactly what you are talking about with the 'after taste' of a cigarette. We are on opposite sides of the taste scale....I don't like that after taste and as a result have settled in to vaping Dekang 555. The juices from China seem to be lighter tasting than the American brands. Let me suggest Johnsons Creek for juices with a rich strong after taste. Good Luck!
