Hello to all at ECF! (forgive my spelling errors, did I spell "spelling" right? HA HA)

I have been lurking ECF for about two weeks now. I ordered my first PV and it arrived today. Unfortunatlly I didn't do enough research becuse I thought I ordered a 510, looks like I got the R8. That's ok with me. I hope I love vaping and these ones can be my back ups or my loaners in the event I love it so much that I will purchase an upgrade. I can not try it tonite as it requires eight hours of charging before initial use.

I love and hate so much about "smoking," If I was to truly cease analogs I would be one of those "if I can do it, anyone can". It's hard to imagine that I can be without one.

My hopes are that I will be like one of the many success stories I have read here. Mostly to cease analogs, but also to completely enjoy vaping. I would love to learn more about it, reading here helps a ton! Yet I need to see and hold them to truly understand. Another hope I have is to give my last pack of analogs to a friend that smokes the same brand (and close to same amount). I would cherish the moment that she asks "why don't you want them?" To answer "I no longer crave/need them" would be the most awsome thing! Maybe she would try it too, with her medical conditions for her to cease analogs and switch to vape, would be so amazing!

My concerns: Never have I been big into "sweets," I worry that the liquids are sweet, like a desert. I truly hope I can find liquids that are yummy to me without being overly sweet. An after taste that lingers very shortly would be perfect for me. Doesn't need to be tobacco, yet it seems in my lurking that is the only way to get something not to sweet.

Anyway sorry for the long intro, hopefully soon I will be posting on the "success story" thread! :)

Welcome and congrats! Hopefully you transition into vaping very easily. If you make it a hobby then your first purchase can sometimes very quickly become your backup lol

As far as the love hate relationship to smoking.. i was right there with you. I was one of those people who said "i wont quit.. i just love having a good smoke" but lo and behold i quit smoking the first day i got my lavatube in the mail. That was almost a year ago.

As far as juices go.. there is a lot of experimenting to do. There are TONS of vendors out there and depending on what type of non sweet your looking for im sure you will find something. If you are meaning not "sweet" as in candy like, there are a lot of fruit flavors out there that dont taste like jolly ranchers for example, but actually taste like your eating the fruit. That is just one example.

Good luck and use this forum to the max! there is tons of new things every day and always someone here willing to help. Goodluck and welcome to the world of Ecigs!

WOW! Thank you so much! I read that everyone here was supportive, but I had no idea! Thank you so much for all your support. I am also learning how to direct a response to specific people, give me time. I'll learn that too!

hit the reply with quote on the post, like I just did.

I'm new here, and one of the most encouraging things about this board has been the number of people saying "if I can do it anyone can." And they have done it!

I've tried to quit hundreds of times I'd put on a patch in the morning (or chew nic gum etc) and then be running to the gas station for cigs every night. This happened day after day, month after month, years went by...

I still have the urges to smoke - it didn't just go away for me but I sit and vape a lot and pretty soon seem to get past it. So far so good.

This is the most helpful and encouraging board. Really great positive energy here.

Flavor is IMHO the most underrated part of the equation. It can be a challenge, and no one can really tell you what's best for you.

I started almost 4 months ago with Volts from Smokeless Image and I quit cigarettes almost immediately. However, the juice search is still in progress. I thought I would be a tobacco only kind of guy. It turns out I like fruit. Not sweet, just fruit. That was a surprise. I would still like to find a good tobacco flavor, but I find that is elusive.

Also, my taste changed over the last 3 months...and my nicotine needs have changed as well.

Most will advise you to get small samples until you find what you like and until your taste buds adjust. Taste really is subjective. My wife and I both vape, and our taste are completely different.
