I wouldn't. There is a chance of a spark. A loose coil, a lead not clipped short enough.. it is the same as not smoking at the pumps. The coil heats up too and fumes are very highly flammable. Far more flammable than the gasoline. Which is why cars are made with fuel injection.. it turns the gas into a mist because it ignites better. Point is, it isn't a risk of burning your lips, it's a risk of you killing yourself and everyone in the area. Is it worth taking a chance for the sake of 3 minutes without taking a vape?

Gas fumes require a perfect percentage to air to explode. Don't vape next to pump, as in, at least 1 foot away. If you smell gas fumes, stop vaping. I vape while filling up all the time, I've never had a problem. I had an idiot friend once (dead now/unrelated) that would pour gasoline on the ground, and then throw his analog into the gas to put it out. Silly stunt, but it never caught on fire. The gas put the cig out just like water does.

There's a chance it'll spark and ignite fumes, especially if it's a hybrid.

Then again, it's nice to live in a state where you don't pump your own gas. Hehe
I actually used to work in a factory where my job required me to spray graphite mixed with alcohol. I had to take a course on handling volatile chemicals. Even the spark from static was enough to set off the fumes. So we had to get the alcohol in pairs, ground ourselves before entering the blast room. (that is what the room the alcohol was stored in was called) then ground the containers and barrels of alcohol. Concrete room with a 6" thick steel door and a 12x12 window. The window was to let the gas from the blast escape in case of explosion. Mind you, if that happened, gas wouldnt be the only thing going out through that little window.

Worst case you're vaping on a two battery series mechanical mod with too low a coil resistance and your batts explode, setting the pump and then your car on fire, meanwhile there's a tanker truck unloading gasoline nearby and when your car explodes it sets off the tanker truck into a huge fireball killing dozens of people who were just standing at that hotdog stand on the premises.
Best case, nothing happens. :D

Can't wait to see that on the news. The media would go crazy for that one, ha.

He was lucky it didn't ignite the vapors above the puddle. ignition temperature is about 495° F (232(232° C), temperature of a cigarette heater is 1100F. 1600 after a 2 second drag.
You have your chemistry totally wrong as well. Gas fumes don't require any percentage of O2 to ignite, all they require is the presence of O2. It will use whatever is present until it's gone. I think what you are getting at, is gas needs to be at a certain density to ignite as a chain reaction.

Doesn't really matter anyway, since it is illegal to vape in non smoking areas

slacker!

I Don't.

Not because I think it could Cause a Fire. But because I Know it Freaks People Out.
okay made me laugh...

no, it's not a safe thing to do and yeah i don't think i'd like the combo of smells... and tossing a lit smoke unless it did light the vapors, would go out without movie magic.. is still going for a darwin award attempt.
