+2 on the Vapor4life.com suggestion. I've been happy with their products.

I'm assuming that by "liquid ones" you mean the kind that use the eliquid? All of them use the eliquid. The prefilled cartridges/cartomizers just have the liquid already added for you.

(Although save the prefilled ones. They can be refilled, as long as you use a similar type of liquid. For example, I refill my chocolate carto's with SnickerZ. You don't have to worry about it now, but it will save you money in the long run. After he gets the hang of refilling.)

The VaporKing setup from Vapor4life is easy to use and pretty reliable. They have tons of prefille carto's to choose from. Get a kit with at least 2 batteries. They do take some time to charge.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can clarify anything I've said for you!

I second that opinion regarding Drew and his crew at NHaler. I live in Texas and get orders from him in 3 days, so with him being close to you, would probably be really fast, his prices are good, his service is excellent and I have NEVER EVER had that crew NOT stand behind a product sold. His liquid is really good too and the selection of models is very nice. Parts and accessories available if needed.

Thank you : ) One quick question about them: do their products long last too? I think that's what's most important for him.. another member, quittin4mykids, generously said how the ego/riva styles last long...Are they about the same in comparison to price? :x

Oh, I didn't know that. So, the prefilled ones use liquid as well :p I didn't know how the ecigs worked inside...I guess I just cared about the results x) If we save the used cartrideges and not throw them away, when we buy the eliquid, can we just insert it into the little hole in the cartridges?

Thank you so much for being helpful, lemonshrew!

Just to share a bit of info with you. The Smokefree you have is *supposed* to be an RN4081 (threaded) model. I've ordered some adapters to try on mine and I'll let you know when I get them. If that's true, at least you'll be able to pick up extras/spares much cheaper than Smokefree sells them for.

BTW, they have a lifetime guarantee on the batteries, and I find that mine charge in about an hour and last for 3 or 4 hours, so you might want to look into exchanging the ones you're having trouble with. I bought mine at a mall kiosk, so if you can find one of those, they should honor the warranty and save you the shipping.

Cigarette size batteries don't hold much of a charge, you have to get into fat batteries, eGo style, for more than 2-3 hours of charge life.

Absolutely. After he gets used to vaping, he will want to move onto something bigger. But being on a budget myself, I know you're not too keen on plunking down another big chunk of money right now.

I'm not sure what type of cartridges he is using, but my guess is they are similar to the KR808's and 510's that I use. There are a bazillion videos around here that show you how to refill, but it's really easy. The part that he sucks the vapor through probably has a little white rubbery looking piece with a small hole in it. Take one of his old ones and look at it. Take a paperclip and straighten the end. Insert it into the hole at an angle. You are just trying to pull the little white rubber ring out. It should come out easily.
Inside you will see some white polyfill (like pillow stuffing) and a little wire in the center. That wire is the atomizer.
Most liquid comes in little bottles with a dripper tip. Just hold the cartomizer at an angle and let the juice slide down the side into the polyfill. You don't want to drip it directly onto the metal wire.
Your boyfriend is probably familiar with refilling zippo lighters. This is similar, you can tell when it's got enough in it. Practice on old ones. If they taste burnt, or you can see that the polyfill stuff has turned brown, throw it away. It's no good.

Oh, good info! It sounds like a same case scenario, but I wonder why ours isn't lasting so long. We went a couple days later to get the battery replaced, and he did replace it for us for free, but it's pretty much the same effect: 4-5 hours to charge; lasts only for 1-2 hour, maybe not even?...

But what do you mean by us being able to pick up extras/spares much cheaper than Smokefree sells them for? :p Could you clarify that part for me please?

I just tried it! : ) Sadly to say though, I'm not too good at it...pillow stuffing didn't come out, but sticky liquid did! You're right. I think he does know how to refill his lighters haha. I'll ask him to try it later but in the meantime, I'll go over some videos on this site. You've been great, lemonshrew! SO helpful.

I got my first (510) kit at Totally Wicked. It came with 3 Mega 510 batteries ( last about an hour longer than regular 510 ) 3 regular 510 atomizers, 10 cartridges and a 10ml bottle of liquid. It was $75 with flat rate $6ish shipping. Oh, it also came with a 5 slot charger, so I can have two batteries fully charged in addition to the one I am currently vaping with. It's been 3 months and all the parts are still working. I switched to drip tips, and got one at Freedom Smoke USA for $2.50 ish. I also order my eliquids from FSUSA. $15 for a 30 ml bottle which lasts me about 10 days. I have no experience with cartomizers.

My 510 works a heck of a lot better than the very first e-cig I tried, which was a disposable model from a truck stop. Huge difference.

Just checked TW MEGA-510 TITAN E-NIC Kit (Electronic Nicotine Imitation Cigarette) Black. The price has gone up tp $99, you can probably find kits for a little cheaper at the other vendors mentioned.

No problem PW. I should clarify that you only want to remove the white rubber mouth piece. If you disturb the polyfill or the wire it might not work anymore. It's very odd that there was enough liquid left in it that it leaked out. His carto's (that's short for cartomizers), may be different from what I'm used to.
Hope this works out for you guys!

Good for you for being so proactive in helping someone you love!

I don't think ANY money has been wasted - you've been introduced to e-cigs (albeit not good quality ones), and of equal importance, you found this forum where you'll find information, opinions, and support, as you've already seen!

For the new e-cig user, the single most important thing is that they get matched to a model, and e-liquid, that most closely duplicates what they currently smoke because that's what the smoker is "hoping" for.

If a heavy smoker "vapes" an e-cig that's too "light" to be satisfying, they won't enjoy it. Same for a light smoker who vapes something too strong. Heavy smokers may also "outgrow" a small battery model quickly because they may vape well enough to be satisfying, but won't last long for heavy use.

The reality of "switching" to e-cigs, successfully, is that it's totally subjective, and as much "trial and error" as it is choosing a brand of cigarette. We all end up with a draw full of "stuff" we don't use or outgrow so your experience is not unique!

You'll notice that vapers meet-ups take place and if there's one near you, it's a great opportunity to "try"
before you buy and to meet some great, like-minded people!

Vape on!

Excellent point Motivaper! I started off with an overpriced, unreliable company, which is why I found this place. (I got lucky, and while the company was unreliable, the product was actual decent.)

P That's the disadvantage of the "pen style" e-cigs. (Pen-style means it looks like a real cigarette.)

Correction: Pen-style means they look like a pen. What you are referring to is called a mini or super mini depending on the size.

Watch my video. I made it for my friends who are new to vaping and wanted to know what I use. Because they love what I use.

Don't worry about sounding too newbie!

When you say you've already spent $200 with this vendor, I have to ask how long your boyfriend has been using e-Cigs. Between the gear and the cartridges, $200 should get you a long way.

Also, mall vendors frequently exaggerate how long a cartridge should last.

A 510 is just a model of e-cigarette (it's what I use, in fact.) I use it with a tank atomizer (often called 510-T) that allows you to attach refillable tanks instead of using cartridges, which are easily refilled by removing them from the e-cig, injecting them with more e-liquid, and then plugging it back into the e-cig. I haven't paid too close attention to how long it takes to charge my battery, but I would estimate it takes an hour to charge and gives me about an hour and a half to two hours of use.

I bought a 500 ml bottle of tobacco-flavored liquid for $125, and it should last me about 6 months. The 510 starter kit was 45 bucks and the 510-T atomizers were 9 bucks, plus a few bucks for some empty tanks.

No $200 with a mall ecig is a Blu kit without a PCC

Sweety I hate to say it but the guy at the mall ripped you off big time. If you can cut your losses and go get an eGo or a Riva. I have an eGo and the batteries last 8 hours of heavy vaping (longer if I vape less) they charge in 2-3 hours and are great all around. My mom has an eGo and the battery lasts her 2 days per charge (she doesn't vape a lot)

For under $100 you can get hardware to last you atleast 6-12 months and juice for about a month or two depending on consumption. Juice is cheap enough. I use puresmoker.com got an ego kit with BOGE 510 cartomizers and juice. Try that or any of the vendors here on ECF

Love and Peace

I got an ego kit from puresmoker for 49.99 grab some BOGE 510 cartos (1.49 each) a drip tip to fit 510 (3.99) and some juice (try a few different smaller bottles (4.99 for 6ml) untiul he finda a flavor he likes. I was a menthol only smoker but I am not vaping their Mellonica (watermelon) and I love it. Oh and they are in Tennessee and they have a flat $5 shipping

1x eGo kit 49.99
1x Drip tip 3.99
10 BOGE 510 Cartos x 1.49 (they can last a while but are disposable so expect a week or so per cartomizer)
and some juice
you are looking at about $100 and you will be set for a while. add a fruity flavor too trust me the cig flavors get nasty and old very quick as your tastes change from quitting. I hate the taste of cigs now as do most vapers.
