Hey, I want to make the jump in to rebuilding and not sure what to start with, I'm thinking the Hurricane 1.3 by E-Phoenix as it's locally made here in my country and I like the look, would it be suitable for a beginner?

My other thought would be to get a cheap Lemo to start with and see if I want to spend the extra on a premium tank...

Thanks, yeah the Lemo comes with wire and cotton and a pre built coil so it sounds good for starting.

I say any atomizer price at $20 US or less would be fine for a starter. If you say what you are currently using, then I might give a more detailed suggestion.

You want flavor or clouds?
Running mechanical or regulated or TC?
You want a dripper or tank or bottom feed?
MTL ot LTL hitter?

I'm currently on an Egrip and an Aerotank mega both at 1.5ohm. I would like more flavor and vapor really...
Want to get an IPV mini II 70w to run my new tank on, so tank not dripper.
MTL hitter so far...

Thanks!

You don't need 70 watts, but get the mod you want.

I would start at around the same ohms you are currently running....... BUT, I might do it with heavier wire, or more wraps of thinner wire then run it with a little more voltage/wattage. So say you are currently running 1.5ohm from 28awg at 12watts. I might drop to 28 and build at 1.3-1.5 and run it at 15-17. Then adjust from there. Point is to start with a build that as close as possible replicates what you are USED TOO, only a tiny bit hotter.

I hear only good thing about the Lemo, never tried one. I have Kayfuns, which are what the Lemo is based on. Basically the same but with less airflow.. Regulated I run then as described above. On mechanical I tend to run in the 1ohm to 1.2ohm range. The Kayfun doesn't really like below 1ohm. Having more air the Lmo will want to be built a little hotter than the Kayfun I would think.

I started building on an original Lemo. 2 builds so far using 26g. First was 1.2 ohm, second using twisted 26g @ .7 ohm. Both fired and wicked perfectly first time. Haven't had any issues, the vape with both are great. No leaks or problems yet. The twisted wire was easier for me to work with and the flavor better. Using 30/70 and 50/50 pg/vg. with max airflow. Either it was beginners luck or this is just a good beginner rba. I'd recommend it.

Thanks for the advice and especially the technical advice 93gc40, I actually have no idea about coiling but really want to learn, and I'm the most advanced vaper among my friends so no one to turn to.

I'm also interested in the Fogger V5, can anyone recommend this for a begginer? Or should I just stick with the Lemo 2?
Fogger v4.4 was my first dual coil RTA, it wasn't the best to start with probably, but I managed. The v5 looks a bit easier because it has holes through the posts unlike the v4.4, so its probably not bad. There are newer dual coil RTAs out there with more airflow if that's why you're looking at a dual coil RTA.

So went to my local shop today asking for a Lemo 2, they didn't have any but suggested the Bellus, which I purchased along with a coil tool kit, cotton & wire. I'm staying with my Istick 30w to start with, will get another mod soon (maybe a Cloupor Mini+).

I'm ready to do my first build but realized I don't have an ohm meter. Can I safely test the resistance directly on my Istick 30w or is it necessary to have an ohm meter?

If you're not sure and you don't have an ohm meter, input your builds into www.steam-engine.org and that will give you a basic idea of what your ohms will be for each build.

On steam-engine on the mod range section, it states that your ideal ohm range for that device is 1.53 ohms.

It says that with 30 gauge kanthal, inner diameter 2mm and 6 and a half wraps would be 1.58 ohms, which is a little more than you want to absolutely sweet spot it, but would work ideally.

28 gauge kanthal with 9 and a half wraps would give you 1.504 ohms.

Your mod is fine, it has all the safely stuff so it won't fire if there's a short or anything.
