On 28awg, how many wraps do you make to get a prefered ohms reading? Btw what would be your preferable ohms reading?

I would stick to 30 or 32ga wire then. I would say don't buy too much either as the coils last a long time, I've had them go for 2 almost 3 months. I also made the mistake of buying a 100ft roll of 32ga and have now found I prefer 28 and 30.

So far I have only used 28ga once and it is a 3/4 wrap and it is .8ohms. It is vaping awesome on my Roller! Very quick to heat up so you don't need a long pull to get a good vape.

As one who is fairly new to RBAs, I have an AGA-T+ and an AC9 clone (RSST). The RSST is, by far, easier to setup and get going than the AGA-T+. I've been fighting and fighting with with AGA, but got my RSST setup and vaping clouds on the first try. It has a smaller tank than the AGA, but with the ease of setup and all that, I much prefer it.

As for wire diameter and mesh, check out Steam Monkey. I started out buying shorter lengths of 28, 30 and 32 and have built coils from all three. They have different characteristics and by trying all 3, you can figure out what you like and order more. I settled in with 30 awg Kanthal myself, but that varies from user to user. Steam Monkey also has great prices on SS mesh. Better than I've found anywhere else, in smaller quantities.

Awe geez! I was finally narrowing my first rba down to aga-t2. Now I keep hearing good about the rsst. Any major diff between the two that we beginners should know about? Besides what I really like that is jharres said!!!! I like easy. (That's why I doubt I'll give up my carto tanks. But I can try it with these reasonable prices)

One big difference is the center post. On the AGA you have 3 nuts, the RSST has a spring and washer. I find it much easier to connect the wire on the RSST. With the spring and washer, it's easier to get the right tension on the wire, whereas with the nuts on the AGA, it's a bit more difficult. The RSST also has a slightly larger hole for the wick. I find it easier to wrap a coil on a larger wick, but then again, I have big ol' meaty hands.

I would highly recommend (based on my limited experience) that you start with an RSST. I started with the AGA and was about to put RBAs aside until I got my RSST. I figure I'll experiment some more on that and get better at building coils, then try again on my AGA.

And for what it's worth, I think the RSST looks much nicer than the AGA, especially on my Legacy.
