Newbie with a Joyetech eMode - flooded

Hello, Am a newbie both to the forum and to ecigs as well. I just got a Joyetech eMode as my second VV. All excited, put it together, followed the instructions on filling, did not over-fill, and right out the door it's gurgling on me

I assume it's my fault somehow, but would like to figure out how to stop this from happening.

I unscrewed it from the battery, and blew back through it gently (trying to blow out the excess juice), and it did alright, it blew juice right out the air hole, and I blew again, more juice came out (you get the picture) - a never-ending stream of juice til I quit blowing, and it *still* gurgles.

Thoughts?

You may notice juice in the top of the battery. If so, dab it out with a tissue. Maybe the bottom of the clearomizer, too.

TY - I unscrewed it from the battery before doing anything. So no worries there

Wish I could help but no idea cuz it's relatively new. Tried searching and found nothing. Just didn't want you to think you're being ignored. Welcome to ECF and here's hoping someone chimes in.

Joyetech atomizers have always been fiddly.

My advice would be to tighten the air inlet control all the way and slowly open it until it gives you the airflow you want but doesn't gurgle. If that doesn't work, try the inverse, and start with the airflow controller wide open and tighten it incrementally.

This is such a new product that many people won't have much experience with it. You can look at advice from past Joye atomizer users to see if any of that applies to this newer design, or just play it with it until it works.

Can you explain the gurgling more? It's quite normal from my experience to hear the crackling noise, if that's what you're taking about. Especially if you haven't vaped your device in a period of time, the wicks become saturated more and after a few puffs it should lessen (the crackling)

I wish I could help, but I'm not familiar with how this product works.

On the clearomizers that I use, gurgling and flooding often mean the juice is wicking too fast for the power level I'm running, and I can often solve the problem with lower resistance, additional wicks, higher voltage, and/or higher wattage (depending on which options are available at the moment).

Perhaps some of these variables are available to you for tweaking?

Gurgling, as in there is fluid in the tube (should be air/vapor only). Not the normal crackle type sound.

The reason why I think it must be me, is it's brand new, first use/fill - I wonder if I am pulling too hard? Or something like that? It's not a spill, overfill, or anything like that, and I assume at the price, maker, etc that it should be a decent quality item?

I was bouncing around here most of the evening, and reading that is making me wonder. So will hard pulls suck juice in and cause gurgling, etc?

I don't have any issues with my Vivi Novas - but I do with other clearos I've tried.

Yes, sucking too hard will make the juice come out too fast. I am going to get myself into trouble for this one.

I am not familiar with your device either, sorry. But if you are taking too hard of a draw it can be pulling up too much juice. I agree that you read the Inhalation Techniques link provided above. I have gone back and read it a couple of times in the first couple of months I was vaping. Sometimes we forget that vaping is not the same as smoking. Some juice delivery devices require a little different draw than others. With my evod I sometimes find that I need to take a qtip and clean inside the mouthpiece. I am sure others have little tips and tricks for your device. Good luck.

It looks like it was either the way I filled it the first time, or else how I was puffing/pulling on it. Taking softer, slower puffs and now am on my 4th tank with no gurgling whatsoever.

So far, the eMode is very, very sweet. Looks very polished and finished in black, and having the 'topper' match the rest of the equipment is a real plus in my book.

FYI - Joyetech 'vanilla' juice is not-so-good! Had to try some - oh well...

Same problem here when i first tried mine. Lowered the voltage (for whatever wierd reason, i had gurgling more on higher voltage)... turn DOWN the airflow, and pull easier on it.
