To give a little back information I have been a smoker for 16 years and was up to a pack to a pack and a half a day. A month ago my partner and i took the plunge and started vaping. We got kits from Volcano and at first it seemed great then my batteries went. The tank was ok but the cartos got clogged with most things I tried using. I even went and got some cartos with three holes and while that helped prolong my vaping time it just wasn't cutting it. Finally i broke down and got an Ego C Upgrade battery and an IClear 30 tank. The first three days it was PERFECT. I love the coffee flavors which really are thicker juices and I'm thinking this might be the main issue? After about four days of vaping, and I probably vape about 4 mils a day or less, it seemed i burnt the atty. The juice in my tank got extremely dark compared to what it started as and it had the gross burnt taste. So I've changed the atty but my main issue is, is this normal? 4 days of vaping and I have to change an atty? I had heard they would last 2-4 weeks and I didn't expect the full month since I do vape the same liquid pretty constant all day. Any suggestions of what might have gone wrong or things I may not know to do to keep the life going? Also is it the coffee liquid causing havoc? I love the battery and the tank holds plenty for me to get through my work shift and typically i have to refill about once a day basically I let it get to half a tank and refill and go from there. I have always heard to top off as often as possible. I've really enjoyed vaping over analog and am proud to have made it over a month now without a real smoke. But it is extremely frustrating to see it not working the way I expected. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Generally the wicked atty's will last up to 4 weeks.
The darker juice is actually a common occurrence with liquids that have some color to them. As you vape them down, they tend to get darker and darker.
If it's burning out quickly it normally signals a poor wick of the juice. What's the pg/vg ratio? Higher VG juices tend to be thicker and may cause wicking issues.
You may try cleaning out the darker juice when it gets to be a tad thick and going with a fresh fill. I have one tank and one juice I have to do that with. I generally get 4 or 5 tanks then I have to clean out the sludge.
That juice has a brownish color to it to begin with, and by the time I have to clean it, it resembles used motor oil.

Also you can use warm water to clean the wicks and tank out. Could help prolong life.

I have this burned flavor taste with one of my liquids utilizing a CE5 Clearomizer. I also top it off in the evening before going to bed, so I would have a full tank the next day. I can top it off 3 times and it starts developing the burnt flavor. I empty the tank into a bottle and rinse the head of the CE5 under hot water. Gently drying the wicks with a paper towel. In addition, when I'm in a hurry utilizing my hair dryer to dry it quicker. Dry burn it, pressing the button for a second, letting it sit 2 seconds, pressing the button again for a second....
After filling up the tank and assembling it, no more bad taste.

Good ideas guys thanks! I'm going to keep an eye on it with the new coil I put in and make sure if I start to see it turning darker I may just go ahead and clean the coils and wicks really well and then reassemble I don't mind the extra steps just don't want to replace an atty every four days so I will try this and see what happens. Thanks so much!
