Thanks. I think the tank I have is a genuine TW as it cam in a TW box and has their logo on the side of unit itself, but yeah I can't see it on their website to compare.

It will be genuine. No worries on that front. Like I said, as far as I know it's discontinued, which is why you won't find it.
Either way, it's made by iSmoka (eleaf) from China for TW. Doesn't make it bad or good. The main thing with TW products is that most of the time you can work out which/who makes it for TW. Then, you can buy it cheaper from a "normal" vendor.

What are the signs to look out for that tell me the coil is coming to its end?

You'll know, you'll lose vapour and the taste will bomb... in a bad way... yuk!

Not having seen a replacement head "in the flesh" dry-burning could be interesting. You MUST dismantle a head to get down to the coil and wick. On Kanger BCC you need to take it out, clean it, remove the chimney section (clean it again, most likely) and reveal the coil. Then, you can fire it up and let the residue burn off. It must be as clean as possible for this to be successful.

Burnt wick/coil is when all the heated juice on the coil has left a blackened residue. It happens, and sometimes quickly depending on juice.

Thanks dj, you've been a great help.

I'm back to square one now with my opening post!
I put the battery on charge again before (for the second time since I've had it) which took an hour or so for the light to change green, then removed it from the charger and checked to see if it was still cycling through the 3 colours/voltages.......and no, back to what it did originally, so back on the charger and straight off....no difference, so back on the charger and straight off again....this time I had the 2 of the colours/voltages.......kept clicking the fire button and then all is well again.

I still haven't heard back off the ebay seller from my original complaint and am wondering whether I just put up with it or push him for a replacement.

Rolling a ciggie was so much easier lol.

You can try. Nothing to lose really. It sounds faulty-ish to me. I doubt you'll need the top setting (if that's how it is..??)
I ordered a Vision Spinner 2 today (£19.99 myepack) and I don't expect to take it above 4.0v or so. Time for a new one, my missus has lost the old one. :)

The moral of this story is....never buy kit or juice off e-bay.

Marcus head over to myepack and get yourseld a protank mini starter kit for £19.99. For that amzing price you will get 1 removable drip tip, 5 heads, charger, glass tank, 650mah battery (5 click on/off) plus the manual and presentation box.

Easy to maintain, clean and yes you can dry burn. Just carefully pull apart the chimney off the head, take out the flavour wicks, clean with water, dry off and then attach to the atomizer/battery and pulse the battery in very short bursts. Either wash the flavour wicks (if they are still intact) and place them back dry or use some cotton wool as a flavour wick,
