Well first off, this is a great forum!! I have been researching for weeks now trying to find a good E-cig that is going to be right for me. There are so many out there but reading this forum has helped me narrow it down a bit. I have smoked for over 30 years( no Im not that old....lol just started very young) for the last 20 yrs it has been menthol. So I have narrowed it down to the Riva, and 510.... I think...lol
My big question is can you use the liquid on any of these or are there only certain ones? Also are there certain ones that the atomizer and batteries can be interchanged? I am still not understanding the whole drip method I have read about but would like to know my options.

First off, welcome to the ECF!! Yes you can purchase your own liquid from whatever vendor you like, I recommend FreedomSmokeUSA as one of my favorites. You can use the liquid to either fill cartridges or cartomizers (cartridge/atomizer in one unit) or you can use them to drip directly on the atomizer (dripping). Cartridges and cartomizers are refillable so it is pretty cost effective to get your own liquid and refill them. Anyway, do some research on here and watch some video's and you will pick up alot of information on vaping. Good luck and happy vaping!

Hi, rose! Welcome to ECF! You can use the 510 atomizers, cartridges and cartomizers with the eGo and the Riva type batteries. I have a 510 PT and an eGo. The PT gets a lot of use when I'm in front of the computer and while I'm charging batteries. The eGo battery lasts me at least 6 hours or more and it's great for when I'm at work or out and about. I would suggest starting with a Riva or eGo if you smoke more a pack or more per day. The 510 starter kits are great if you smoke less than a pack per day. The battery life on the 510 lasts an hour or two between charges.

Thank you for your help.... the Ego and Riva were the top 2 on my list. And just to make sure, I can put liquid in either of these and it will not harm the units? I am so excited to order this I just cant wait. I am excited to try some of these liquids as well.
Maybe this will get my daughter to let up a little about my smoking too.

You can put the liquid of your choice in the cartridge, put the cartridge on your atomizer and vape your head off! It won't hurt a thing. The batteries on the Rivas and eGos are sealed, which means juice won't seep into the battery itself. When you order your kit, make sure you order a couple of extra atty's and some empty cartridges and plenty of juice! Get some different flavors and a couple of different nicotine strengths so you can find out what will work best for you. Order 5ml bottles of the juice so you can get a nice sampling of flavors.

Now I throw out my vote for getting juice from VaporBomb. Great prices, great flavors and excellent service!

Ok Update... I just couldnt wait to order one so I stopped by the local 7-11 after work and picked up the xhale. Its pretty good so far. I know you get what you pay for but I feel it in my throat the vapor is not too bad, it could be a little more but not bad for a start and for cost. Does anyone know if you can use liquid in these?
I do know that in the next couple days I will be ordering online but still cant make up my mind between the Ego and the Riva.

I really enjoy vaping and I am only just getting started.

shstrarose, welcome to the forum I haven't tried the Riva but use the eGo and really love it - well worth getting one of these when you can.

I also smoked menthol analogs and after the initial toothpastey kind of taste, I actually grew to love the flavor of the menthol vape. Keep going, this does grow on you so if you enjoy it now, you're going to love it!

i got an ego and dont think i could of stayed off analogs with my 901 with chewing nicotine gum just couldnt get a good vape off a automatic and battery life sucked and i had two. the egos battery life is great i got two units and vape back and forth all day till i go to bed and charge them. battery life can break you as will filling carts, iam trying out a mega cartomizer as messing with e cigs is the achilles heel of it. i lost intrest and went back to analogs a year ago. now you have manual systems like the ego with bigger batteries and cartomizers now. i see alote more people giving up analogs with these systems.

You can put a drop, maybe 2 max, in the plastic tip and put it back on the atomizer. That will help a bit 'til you get a real one

I have noticed that after awhile the x hale does not produce much vapor, I still feel the hit and can taste the flavor though, any suggestions?

does the draw become more difficult, like sucking through a straw a Wendy's frosty? If it gets that bad I usually blow it out, set it upside down on a paper towel then switch to another atty for a while. Eventually when either residual taste and draw becomes too much to bear then I will soak in CPH or IPA for about 15 minutes, rinse blow out and dry out for 12 hours or so.

You said you didn't understand dripping yet so I'll jump in on that question. With dripping you get a special drip tip which is open and has no filler. You can see right in to the atomizer. Then you just drip 2 or 3 drops as needed on the atty and vape away. I personally like it because it's quick and easy.
