Hi Jenna. Welcome to ECF. Once you make 5 posts you can post in most other threads.
I have been
vaping for almost three years. It was the only way that worked for me to quit a 46 year smoking habit. I can give you some advice as it applied to me when I started vaping.
Start slow. You do not need or want the most expensive, powerful mod out there in the beginning. Find a device that has variable wattage and something that you can buy coils for that are above 1 ohm. You want a variable wattage device so you can adjust it to your taste. Some juices will taste better at a higher wattage and some lower. Only way to tell is to experiment. My starting point was to take the # of ohms on the atty and add 2. That will give you the volts to start at. (Most devices should display both watts and volts). Start with a low wattage and work your way up to where the juice tastes good. If it tastes burnt, turn it down. Your device is a constant, it is the atty that you may need to try several to find one that works well for you.
Try many flavors of juice by several different vendors. Try to find sample packs and 10ml bottles. A vanilla juice will taste different by every vendor. It is a matter of trial and error and takes a bit of time to find flavors that you can vape all day.
Here is a link to a thread where you can trade juices.
