Right now I am vaping on an ego twist with a vivi nova tank. I am vaping my own juice, through my own rebuilt atomizer head. I'm using a cotton wick, a Kanthal coil, and I have made a few minor modifications to the vivi tank that have eliminated every problem that i had with it. I am getting great flavor, and huge clouds of vapor.

50 days ago, I didn't even know what vaping was.

I'm not a genius, or incredibly mechanically inclined. I am not wealthy - I have spent less than $440 on vaping so far. But I am determined, and willing to work at things.

95% of what I learned in order to do this was found on these forums. And I didn't even have to start new topics asking for help.

I used the search.

And I read, and read and read. I have spent over 100 hours reading these forums over the last 50 days.

The answers are already out there, if you are willing to put in the time.

Don't give up. Don't settle for less than an excellent vaping experience.

That is my :2c: to all you newbies feeling overwhelmed by the wide world of vaping.

I'm a newbie too. But thanks to these forums, I'm one happy newb.

:)

Not to scare any new or potential vapors off, but one can spend 1/4 of that amount and be completely satisfied with their setup. A couple of eGo Twist/Spinners, a charger, a few juice carrying devices, and some e-juice can be an equally satisfying setup for the vast majority of beginners.

Grats on finding your perfect setup.

Very true! I would have spent a lot less if I hadn't invested around $50 in those annoying ego-t tanks. And I should have mentioned that I have enough supplies to rebuild attys for over 2 years, and make over half a gallon of juice. :)

Grats on finding your perfect setup.

Thanks!

I am glad for this new member forum because I don't have 440 to spend or 100 hours to read HA! Seriously... I don't. So I am happy to those who are willing to answer questions over and over!

They sure are willing! A lot of that 100 hours was spend re-reading the same info in different threads, often posted by the same people over and over. There is certainly a lot of patience in here. This is by far one of the best forums I have ever found.

That is very good. I also did a lot of searching here. And found most of what I needed. Now you should try to build your own puck mod box. With using "AA" or "AAA" batteries you will totally self sufficient. You can get them anywhere. I don't like using Li-on batteries any more, they didn't charge.. didn't last long enough...got hot...leaked, etc..
Good luck

same boat here.. only on my 3rd week of vaping from a pack a day... last 8 days spent 3-4 hours each night (losing sleep!) learning and trying out the genesis setup... getting good vape and taste but still a lot to learn especially top coil hotspots..

all i did was read, youtube and read again, and jump into it myself!

Congrats! I have lost a lot of sleep myself. Heck, I should be asleep right now! And youtube is an excellent resource. A bit frustrating when the "experts" contradict each other, but lots of good info none-the-less. 95% of what I learned was in here, the other 5% was on youtube. I sue am glad that I find this all to be a lot of fun. Otherwise I might have given up.

Oh man... I spent around 5 of those hours looking into the puck. I need to go back to that again. I want to see if anyone found a way to make a cheap easy VV mod for it. If I can do the 510 connection and VV, then I intend to build one. But for the next few weeks, I'm going to relax and enjoy my twist and vivi - and work a bit on my juices and my coil rebuilding techniques. Thanks for reminding me that I have a lot more hours to spend and a lot more work to do to get where I want to be. :p

I did the same as you. Read, Read, Read...watched youtube vid....Read.

LMAO! That has been my life ever since I learned about vaping. So determined to quit smoking now that I am a single parent of a 2-year old. Her mother died last spring, and I'm determined to live as long as I can so that she won't lose another parent due to my stupid ex-habit.

Then I bought my mod and DIY juice supplies....been very happy with the results!

Awesome. Me too. Being happy is the key. I was worried that if I wasn't totally happy with vaping, that I might go back to analogs. Tonight was my first vape with my DIY juice. I feel very, very satisfied. I see that you are at 22 days. I'm only 11 days beyond that. Good to see another newbie who realized that this isn't really that hard if you put your mind to it!

I've spent roughly around $500-$600 so far in my 6 months of vaping but comparing it to the number on my banner!, its a whole lot less than what would have been spent.

I'll bet you enjoyed that extra grand! My $440 might seem like a lot for one month of vaping, but I have enough stuff here to last me for well over a year. The savings will come. The funny thing is that when I look at my speadsheet I wish that I had smoked more (I only smoked 7 analogs a day) so that my savings would look bigger!
