Hey guys couple of questions I have regarding to vaping. I started vaping to quit smoking so I bought a standard Foos ecig which did me good or about two weeks then I bought a clone airflow tank and I loves it, but was still using a standard ego battery so inhale to upgrade to produce more vape. I bought a MVP 2.0 2 weeks after, which is just awesome. But I wanted to get into cloud chasing.. So I bought a kayfun v2 clone. I have built my first atomizer. It's currently at 1.6 ohms. For some reason I don't think my MVP can vape that low of ohms. I had to a rubberband between the kayfun and my ring on my MVP for it to connect or it won't read my kayfun, I'll hold the button for a second then I'll get some good vape. Currently running it at 1.5 ohms with a 8watts and 4volts.
Now here is my main question. Like I stated before I want to start producing more clouds so I need to buy a mech mod. I've done all my research and blah blah but it's a little hard to understand, I'm a hands on kinda person and the closest shop to me is about 30 mins and I don't want to get overcharged because I'm new to this.
So I want a mod I can produce more vape with but I'm having troubles on how to figure that out. I vape all day, school, work, car, everywhere which is why I have a kayfun and not dripper and a MVP which will last a good 3 days of vaping.
I want something smallish and lightish. I wear shorts and joggers a lot which is why I want something on the light side because my MVP weights my pants down. I know this will be hard but if I need to I'll deal with the weight to produce more vape lol.
I hope this makes since to whoever who reads this I'm currently working so I'm trying to type as fast as possible.
I appreciate any and all help that will be given!
Thanks, Alex

My mvp2 reads and runs coils as low as 1.0 ohms. I've not gone lower than that but currently I'm running a 1.0 coil in my kayfun and my mvp is working perfectly. I don't imagine a 1.5 would give it any problem if I'm running a 1.0. So I would go back and double check your build because I know she will read and run a 1.0, I've not tried to go lower with her so I don't know if that's possible but I've got no issues with my 1.0. So it might be something other than the ohm level stopping your mvp from reading. Possibly a short? Or a different issue with the build? Just wanted to let you know she will run and read down to 1.0 so you shouldn't have any issues with a 1.5. Hope this helps a bit. I'd try a new build and make sure everything is checked because you can go down to at least 1.0. I'm doing it no without any problem on my mvp. I wish you the best.

Ohms readers can also be found at lows/home depot. I know you said you've done a lot of research already and hear this as someone trying to help but I feel it would be wise to be more familiar with ohms law and such before you go 'cloud chasing with a mech'. My reasoning for this is you said you're running 8 watts and 4volts. Its and either or, not both. A very common mistake earlier on, I know I thought the same at first, but if you are not familiar with that I wouldn't recommend trying to get sub on a mech. A kayfun if built right can produce some very thick vapor off a regulated device. Yes a mech on sub ohm can do more but my kayfun blows very comparable clouds to most pals mechs. I would say excel with what you have before buying more.

May I make a suggestion get a ohm reader with 510 threading like these two very easy to use just screw on and read. You get get them online cheap 20140613_090847.jpg

I just bought one at rtd vapor and it's exact on the dot every time. I bought another one first from a different company and every time I put one on it read completely different. Total waste of money. The ones at RTD vapor are great and work perfectly.

Id start by diagnosing & fixing your 510 connection problem, this is where the airflow and power come from to make vapor.
A fault here will limit the devices ability to function properly.

All VW/VV apv's are either in V mode or W mode, whichever you adjusted last is the mode it is in. You cannot adjust both W and V at the same time.

The MVP is a very capable of producing 'clouds' with the right combo of resistance, wicking ability, airflow and VG%. Maybe not to a serious 'cloud chasers' level but enough to get comfortable with building & wicking coils, with the benefits of having a built in ohms checker and safety features while you learn.

Of course if all you want is a mechanical, disregard.

Issue is most likely in your build, not your battery, so you may not need a mech. I've got a ProVari with kayfun with a 1.6 ohm coil set to 3.8v, that's just over 9 watts. Its not huge clouds, but the vapor production is great on it. I'm sure I could easily step it up some more and have clouds but my throat hit is good.

Re-eval your build. You can get that coil lower if you want (within current limits of device) and make sure your wick isn't too loose or too tight. Also use cotton if you're not, it makes a huge difference IMO
