I'm a little confused. I see three details; in the pic at left, a blue dome facing the camera and a pink convex protrusion to the right. In the pic at right, I see a round dot near the base which I'm guessing is a vent. Could you please tell us which detail is what? Is the LED integral to the switch cover? Can it be bypassed (turned off so as not to call attention)?
BTW, from an earlier post: I've specified your switch vendor, C&K, decades ago. They were a quality house. I'm sure they still are.
I hope this helps , this is NOT you normal PV , we have added voltage control to it , it allows you to adjust the voltage to the atty . ( just wanted to make sure it was clear )
1. The blue thing you see is the adjustment potentiometer ( use a small screwdriver ) this controls the voltage to the atty. 3.5v - 6volts.
2. the Pink thing is an LED ( red in this pic , they will be green for activated and red for Low battery ind. )
3. the round dot in the right pix is 1 of 3 vent holes in the tube for battery venting .another safety feature.
The LED at this time can not be disabled ( may happen in the future ? ) It's location makes it VERY easy to cover with a finger as you hold the unit. It is built into the body.
This PV has several safety features to it
a. Over current
b. reverse battery protection
c. over temp of the IC ( excess current draw causes a reduction in current until shutdown )
d. Vent holes
e. short circuit protection ( wont over draw current from the batteries !! meaning they are less likely to vent ) protected batteries are optional in this unit .
f. Low battery indicator ( below 6volts combined voltage )
I hope this helps !
