Hello all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I've been vaping for over a year now, and took the pretty normal path of eGo - eGoT - eGoC. While I enjoy the eGoC, I get frustrated with it's wicking issues and general performance and was looking to switch to something else. I have one requirement though, it has to remain "sleek" like the good old eGo design. I don't want to look like I'm carrying around a MagLite. (no offense to silver bullet users, lol, just not my thing)

I would prefer a "tank" type system so I don't have to carry extra juice to work, and I don't "drip" either (tried it for a while, not my thing either).

Are there any better performing options for the eGo/510 batteries that remain similar in design to the original eGo or eGoT?

you could go with the vision spinner or eGo twist....if you are looking more for a mod, the mega eGo VV is a variable voltage eGo threaded device with an LCD screen and removable batteries....

as far as tanks go, what kind of tanks? you want an atomizer tank, a clearomizer type tank (like the vivi nova), a cartomizer type tank, or a genesis style atomizer tank?

I just tried some v3 stardust rebuildable heads today and wow what a difference over the v2. The new ones had two wicks one large and one small. So far on the three clearos im using no dry hits but they are using alot juice. These look sleek on a ego and wow the flavor is great almost as good as my rebuildable with SS mesh.

I have Stardust-type clearos and mini vivi novas, but since discovering carto tanks that's almost all I use. Compared to the others, I was amazed by the consistent performance (YMMV), and I don't have to fiddle with it. At first I thought they might be too large to take out with me, now I think they're cute! Here is a 19mm XL on a 650mah eGo:

i just started vaping and tryed a carto tank and wasnt impressed got it from the store by my work. The flavor tasted really muted with a plastic type taste. I am willing to give them another try, i mainly vape boba,s and 100%vg the carto i had only one small hole punched in it. What would be a good carto to try that can handle thick juice?

I use a glass tank with either a stainless steel or glass drip tip, so there is no plastic flavor. Some people can taste the SS tip (I didn't notice it until someone posted about it), but I like it. I kinda weird though. I don't use 100% vg, so I can't advise you on that, but I'm sure other members can. I get mine prepunched, but it doesn't look that difficult to use a punching tool. You could get one and punch as many holes as needed.

ikenvape PUNCHED! platinum series in a GLASS tank from ibtanked is the winning combination for carto tanks IMHO right now...the glass gives a cleaner flavor and is inert to caustic juices...and you'd want at least two or maybe even three holes for VG stuff like bobas.

I'll have to check into ikenvape. What do you like about them?

simply put: they have the best damned cartomizers on the planet....i've tried boges (before the QC issues), i've tried smok tech cartos (including the ressurectors) and a ton of other brands of cartos...dual coil and single coil....nothing compares to the performance and flavor of the ikenvapes...i've NEVER ONCE gotten a dud from any of the boxes i've ordered, and i have some that have lasted me a month or better with regular cleanings....i simply cannot say enough good things about them.

I will have to try those when I get some extra funds (daughters and wife's birthdays,Christmas, and anniversary all in DEC). right now I only have a 1100MA battery but, I should receive my Telescope mod and some 18650's and 18350's and 500mesh and kanthal wire tomorrow. I have only been vaping about five weeks so i am trying to find what i like better clearos, cartos, RBA's.

oh i definately like my RBAs....got an AGA-T genesis atty that i leave at home for really clean vapor, but i like to take my penelope with me when i'm going out.

BUT, i ALWAYS have a handful of cartos and a tank with me just incase tucked away in my case with the extra batteries.

yeah i learned the hard way to have backups went to work and forgot my juice, but the two filled clearos barely got me thru the work day. I stashed 15Ml of boba's and a couple stardust tucked away in the glove box.

so are these better than the ego-c/t's? my biggest gripe with the ego tanks is that they leak a lot, that and the juice doesn't wick to the atty very fast. (you cant get two good hits in a row without waiting 5 minutes or so)

AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Vision Clearomizer - AltSmoke

if you hate leaks and wicking issues those aren't for you, if you want to chain vape you want a cartomizer tank like the ones i was talking about earlier in the thread.....there is simply no comparison in chain vape ability to the carto tanks

Okies, thanks for stopping me from ordering the clearomizer then. I don't necessarily "chain vape" but on a 10 minute break at work, i want more than two hits, lol.

I checked out the setup you posted earlier, and from what I see, the tubes are twice the diameter of an eGo battery, is that right? currently using a 100mah eGo Twist and I really like the form, design and look of the eGo's. Just not the overall performance.

Another question(s). The PUNCHED! cartomizers are usable just by themselves? and if you want you can add a tank to them? and if you dont add a tank they just use the typical polyfill stuff?

Thanks for all the help guys.

You can use the punched cartos by themselves...but they will be airy and leaky...personally I prefer to punch my own cartos for this reason...and yes, the tank listed above will make am ego battery look slightly like a lamp post.
