Nic strength question, does 18mg juice = 18mg/ml?

Hello,

I have a somewhat silly question...

When an e-juice is rated "18mg nic content" (or w/e), is that 18mg/ml?

I know the absorption rates are probably quite different, but I'm just curious how much e-juice equals the 18mg of nic you find in a pack of camel lights.

I've had my PV for a week now (5 days analog free!) and I think I've found a good sweet spot of nic strength to keep me satisfied (about 18 and dropping), just curious how the amount of nic compares.

Of course this is the max nic available in either delivery method so the intake is lower...

Also, how many drops = 1 ml, approximately?

A single cigarette typically has 1 - 1.2 mg of nicotine in it -- when you see 24 mg in cig ads, that's for the entire pack of 20.

Differences in absorption mechanisms, plus the other wunnerful chemicals in actual cigs, makes a huge difference. Turns out, however, that for many people who used to smoke a pack a day of full strength cigs (the ones with 24 mg nic per pack), that they end up using 24 mg strength e-liquid.

Best I can tell, a lot of us, at least early on, use around 3 ml of liquid per day as replacement for a full pack a day habit. If vaping directly equated to smoking you would expect 1 ml/day, since then you would be inhaling 24 mg of nic via vaping vs. 24 mg of nic in a full pack of cigs. Cigs, however, have things like freebase nicotine and MAOIs, chemicals that mean the effect of cigs on the brain and body is not the same as that of vaping. I needed to vape about twice as often as I smoked, at first, though for shorter durations.

Thanks for all the great info guys!

I realize the numbers aren't directly comparable, and drops per mL is certainly a vague guess, but I just wanted have a general idea of the relationship. I looked up camel light's nic content (my old smoke @ a PAD) and they have .9mg nic per cig.

I think I am using approx 1mL/day, I didn't used to smoke entire cigs very often, so I'm really digging the ability to take two puffs and set the thing down for an hour or so.

Although I may have increased my mL/day with my recent 5v passthrough purchase, I need more low nic juice for watching movies at my PC.... :p. It's just too good to chain vape during a movie....
