Now that i've quit for a month now. My skinny ... needs to gain some weight :/. I know that real cigs and chemicals cause weight loss issues and absorbs sugar to not gain the fat. My question is does vaping just the nicotine and no chemicals have any effect on weight gaining/loss issues as well? I feel like i can eat ALOT more now. Sorry for this embarassing question and if its not in the right board...

Nicotine, smoking or vaping do not cause weight gain nor loss. Eating or not eating does. People gain weight sometimes when they quit smoking because they eat to satisfy what they're missing orally by not smoking. People keep weight off by smoking instead of eating for the same oral reason. Same goes for vaping with the exception that some people are so satisfied with the food/dessert flavors themselves instead of just the oral satisfaction that they don't eat as much. For instance, some who never smoked vape as a diet aid. They vape cheesecake flavor instead of eating cheesecake. However, some who vape food flavors then want the real thing more and, thus, eat more and gain weight vaping. None of the above has anything to do with nicotine and just as easily happens vaping zero nic. Nicotine does the same thing caffeine does so if that makes you extra active and you don't eat to compensate for the extra activity, you'll loose weight but again it all comes down to eating... not smoking nor vaping. Besides who wants to be strung out and jittery from that much caffeine?

I came to vaping as a non-smoker (quit 14 years ago) because I wanted to see if it would help me with weight loss since I work from home and tend to snack a lot (the mouth is hungry even when the body's not). Not only did I stop eating all the time, for some reason I haven't felt like drinking either where I'd usually have a drink or two every night. I'm down about 7 pounds in the past few weeks. I'm still eating (in fact because I've been busy on a project I haven't been cooking so we've been eating out a lot), I've just not taking in all those extra calories.

YMMV. If you need to gain weight, "eat, bubelah, eat!" :D

Not sure that analogs cause weight gain, but definitely once you quit them your taste buds come back and food tastes much better - so you might want to eat more! Personally, I love vaping desert flavors - don't think I've wanted anything sweet to eat since I started vaping:vapor:

I hear ya Amanda. I have lost a few pounds because I don't snack at night anymore. Well I do, but I snack on a sweet vape. I have a few favorite snacking vapes just for evenings when the sweet craving hits. And I prefer a sweet vape to real sweets now. Added bonus to vaping for me.
