Your also altering the very fabric of your bodies function by forcing it to be weaned off of all the nonsense most of our diets incorporate. All those processed flours and sugars...bleh...I went full vegan for 3 years and it was catastrophic. My body was literally dying towards the end of it. I don't eat meat very often, and prefer my protein in a cellular form that is readily digested (like mushrooms and legumes) I will say keto does (after a period of time) light a ketogenic fire in your metabolism. It's borderline dangerous, as you're forcing your body into a form of ketosis, but it's more effective than those other diet fads.

I get all my protein from combinations of all foods inc. beans paired with rice etc..
I was veggie for 25 years minus 6 months and vegan for the last 2. Nothing wrong whatsoever.
Can I ask what was the problems you found?
I lost muscle mass and my estrogen levels had skyrocketed. My doctor said it had to do with my physiology, and I was more of an anomaly than anything else.
SO, back to vegetarian, with the inclusion of fish and eggs...some chicken and the occasional addition of red meat.

I would imagine that you consume eggs and milk? Milk has high estrogen levels. A lot of people don't drink milk for this reason alone.
Chicken has a high phthalate content and reduces test in men and isn't a good idea for lowering estrogen levels.
Soy is the devil. I used to love tofu, but after like a month with it I started feeling quite ill.

One thing I've vegetarian diets frequently rely on is soy as a protein source, which has of positives. It's also high in estrogen.
