Help me out guys!
I recently received 1000 mls of 36mg nic base from a vendor who has a generally good reputation round here. I've ordered nic base from them before (but only 250 mls) and it had no noticeable odor. My new batch smelled very strong and somewhat like kerosene. I sent in a ticket and they were very helpful, immediately shipping out a new bottle to me. I received it today (it has a different LOT #) and it smells exactly the same. I don't want to trash the vendor in any way. They've only been great so far. But what's up with this nicotine? I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to smell like this, but after two bottles from different lots I'm a bit confused. I poured some off one bottle and am letting it sit in the freezer a few days to see if it changes at all. I know the original 250 ml bottle I bought sat in my freezer awhile before I ever smelled it, so maybe it wasn't odorless when it arrived either? I'm probably grasping at straws here. Anyone have any experience with this?

Is it suspended in vg? Some glycerin is derived from petroleum byproducts, not what I would want to vape.

Every bottle of nic I've ever purchased has had a "chemical" scent, nothing foul or overpowering, but sure enough there's something in that bottle besides water.

I can't say whether it's good or bad nic, but if it gives you a bad feeling definitely do not use it.

It's suspended in PG.
I went back and gave a serious sniff to my original 250 ml bottle and while at first it seems to have no odor, it does have a very slight kerosene like scent. So maybe it smelled like these big bottles originally... Hmmm. Heck, I don't know. I wish there was another DIYer nearby who would let me come smell their nicotine :p
