Thank you all for the help on the bottles I very much appreciate it. Sorry to clog up the thread with it . I've made an order for 50 standard and 15 Unicorn. I love unicorn to travel with but have yet to mix with them, the shot glass recommendation is an awesome idea!

I'm preparing to make another nicotine order. I first ordered 120ml bottle of Nude Nicotine since everyone praised it's almost tasteless. Knowing I should find something in a better price range, cause my ccards are weaping, I've been on Nicotine Rivers web site. Since their liter is half the cost I'm concerned it will be stronger than I would like. I want as little to no TH. I can certainly deal with some less than clean taste, cause budget wise people can't be too choosey. [emoji6]

Those that use Nic River, do you feel it's a decent middle of the road nic that's not too harsh? I've made up my mind to steer away from WL & MFS. I'm running out of time and need to make a decision. I've only been DIY for a month and haven't even found a juice I want to mix with nic yet but I hope I'm getting close. Well now I'm rambling *face palm*. Opinions appreciated even though taste is subjective.

I cant speak for the others, but nicselect isn't budget nic, lol - budget price, yes ;)

It's also used in very many ejuice-brands like cuttwood, space jam and nicoticket etc.

As far as i'm concerned it's smooth TH and very clean taste although never bought from nicotine-river, or atleast not nic, only VG. Nic obviously has TH, but it's pleasent and not scratchy or owerpowering, hence what I mean with "smooth"...

Alchem makes batch-sizes of 280.000L in india, with US and EU warehouses, and additionally supplies e.g. nicorette nic gums etc, so the price for making extra nic for the vaping-market additionally, isn't needing to be so high I believe, unless the vendor upmarks it like e.g. nicvape etc. So the same nic is sold either at budget prices or near NN/VT prices depending on vendor choosen...

Btw, I read a quote from alchem that there nic is tripple-purified to reach the purity it has with nicselect, and that they admitedly had issues in the past with figuring everything out, but all fixed now...

I highly suggest getting the smallest bottle from each that you're interested in, and then test them unflavored and blind and decide which you prefer.

I mixed unflavored VT, Nude, and RTS and have been trying them out today in a single coil 1ohm build on a nimbus RDA.

I'm going to agree with Kurt on RTS. It's the best "flavored" unflavored of the 3. My blend is 50/50 @ 6mg. All 3 have the same type of flavor though. Just in varying degrees. Nude and VT are very similar in flavor. I'm not sure I can really tell the difference. Nude may have slightly less TH but hard to say. RTS has the most TH but by "most" I only mean slightly more.

I'm now convinced that RTS @ $49/liter is the best lower priced nic I've ever vaped. I prefer it over the nicselect I ordered from Nic River. Nicselect has the strongest odor and most TH of the 4. No doubt about that but I really have nothing bad to say about nicselect. It was totally fine in recipes and I enjoyed it unflavored as well.

VT probably has the least flavor but Nude probably has the least TH of the 3 I'm testing. Interesting.

Thanks for the review.I have only used ECX which was very peppery and NN which i love. I just got 2 Litres from RTS, not sampled it yet but good to know you like it. I also do 50/50 but at 18 mg but plan on dropping to 15 mg with my first mix of RTS.

Interesting review! Thanks for your thoughts :)

It annoys me as f*** that I only personally can talk about nicselect or chemnovatic, as that's all I have available legally... Damn how I would like trying these other brands you good people have available...

I'm sorry for you but it may not be too long until you have more legal choices of nic that we do in the states. At least you have two very acceptable choices based on the opinions I see here on ECF!

We have even less choices here in Canada ... basically, it's not supposed to even be available. There are some places, but not the choices they have States side.

Up here, it's almost ... get what you can.

I'm really digging the RTS nic. I loaded a fresh built kayfun tank of it and have been vaping it all evening. I had my teenage daughters smell the vapor and pulled the drip tip so they could smell the chimney (my sense of smell kinda sucks). They both said it smells nice. They picked up a spice note like cinnamon or something and a little sweetness (prob the VG). I'm really glad I gave RTS another shot. It's quite different than the stuff I bought from them in 2013. Good thing too because I grabbed 4 liters lol.

Off topic but I really appreciate my kids' 100% support of vaping. After all the crap my wife and I got for many years it feels so nice to have support from them. They're talking to all their college friends who smoke into trying vaping. Boots on the ground.

Uh huh. ;)
Glad you like it.
It's a really clean nic that has TH and some true taste.

I have finally received my bottles and nic and it is time to rebottle the liters of nic!
On preparing the bottles I just need to know if a quick rinse is good or do I do a hot soapy bath!
Someone mentioned the water leaking into the caps so I want to be really careful getting the caps ready!

COAs are good to post, but COAs for each batch of nic are generally not posted, and nics can change subtly from batch to batch and have virtually the same COAs. I believe it is the spectrum of TRACE components (nic-oxides, alkaloids, etc) that dictates the taste of a nic, or the lack thereof. We are very sensitive to taste of some compounds

I can testify in front of jury you are right.
At my work I have absolute alcohol, 200 proof, 99.98%. Of course I have tried it (my alien genes make me taste about anything with ethanol in it). Pretty bad taste, much worse than cheapest vodka. Just 0.02% did it.

between here and there
I asked the question below and put in the appropriate thread but since it is sitting at the very top of the DIY forum thread I believe no one noticed it. I normally don't look up that high when coming to these theads, so I will post it in here in hopes I can get someone to answer. Thanks in advance.

This is the test for the strength of nicotine.
Simple, easy DIY test for mg/mL nicotine. A Follow Up on DVAP's Method
reposted below.

Wow. Time to reactivate this thread. It is now many years after the original posts on 'how to' and I have a couple of questions.
Since the first tests were introduced the sellers of the chemicals required have either stopped selling them or have revised them in some form. eg.
I found several companies offering the bromothymol blue but in different strengths. .004 and .001
and then this one (which I just bought)
Hach 25532 Bromthymol Blue Indicator Solution, 100 mL MDB: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Can you tell me if I purchased the correct one this test is calling for? If it is not, then what do I buy now? The .004 or the .001?
Thanks
:)

Just wanted to add that chemnovatic has in an external lab got there nic tested as having a purity of 100.4% in the start of the year or something I believe, but they haven't added it into there main COA. That test report imho is pretty useless because the alkaloids individually are again stating "According to spec" under each i.e. under 0.3% or 0.5%(EP vs USP), and total impurities is the same i.e. under 0.8(EP, USP is 1.0 I believe) and with water it's max 1.0. The assay of 100.4 is only impressive if the alkaloids and water also are very low, as according to Kurt they should be detracted from the assay to get the true nic purity, and we don't know that(alkaloids) except the water is pretty low... I hate when they do that...

I believe i've got a not optimal chemnovatic batch currently, because I don't believe it's normal that it should taste much more of tobacco than nicselect(none, but general nic taste) honestly...

Alien Traveler, good point ;)
