My first choice on nic is Wizard Ice. I ordered from ecigexpress this week. Since Wizard Labs has closed for the time being.

Haven't been around in awhile and almost had a heart attack when I saw this. Glad to see from the WL website it's only while they are expanding to a new facility.:toast:

Here & There
Just a few updates since I haven't posted on this thread in awhile and I know Cyrus misses me

I had a bottle of MFS stored in my freezer for a year then taken into the fridge the last two months so that is 14 months bought and unopened. I opened it up a few weeks back and while it was not crystal clear very little oxidation had occurred. The smell was about what you would expect from 100 mg nicotine that isn't brand spanking new--- completely acceptable. Taste is similar to others nothing dramatically different that I can notice.

Onto two other bottles kept in fridge for 4-6 months and unopened in the crisper in opaque containers. Vaping Zone completely dark orange and strong smell. I dumped it.
RTS Vapes---very little change maybe a touch darker than what it looks like fresh and first opened smells the same as it ever does.

Recent purchase of 100 mg nic from ECX--much stronger smell than I like to see in a newly purchased bottle of nic. Made a juice I make often and in two days time it was a much darker color than it normally is. I was told by the vendor and I quote-- 100 mg is well just stinky stuff. Never got that answer from a vendor and I am not sure I entirely agree. I will make my husband's juice with this... lmao

Recent purchase of Wizard Labs ICE---heaven on earth mild to no odor--- happy camper. This is Shilo's nic base...lol :D Also am staring at a sample of Wizard Pure and its crystal clear like water as is the sample of Wizard's normal base.

I can vape alot of different bases but the Wizard has become my go to and favorite especially after the things I mentioned above.

Always Shilo! :) Thank you for the post, good stuff!

Sorry to hear that about the VZ and the ECX :( Did the ECX arrive that way, or just turn on you really fast? I have to say I had a smaller bottle of 36 mg from ECX oxidize rapidly on me, but it was when I was in California for the month and had run out of nic. It was just sitting out on the dresser in a clear bottle, in a sunny warm room.. so I blamed myself lol. And it did pick up a flavor I didn't care for also.

Its great to hear people report on longevity, or lack thereof. It gives us all something else to chew on. Maybe there is something about the way these nics are extracted, and trace compounds that are/ are not floating around in them that affect how they age. Or maybe its just how old it is before we get it, how its stored at the vendor, what it goes through during shipping, etc. Maybe as more people post on this we'll have more info and a consistent pattern may emerge.

My experience so far has made me feel best about WLR, WLI and MFS as far as time goes. My initial bottle of VZ seemed invincible, but never re ordered after that. XTR, ECX I've always gone through too fast to say anything useful lol. And as I said in the WL thread, my recent shipment of 100mg from wizard was crystal clear, still haven't touched it and its in the freezer.

Excellent and informative post!

I'm comforted by the quoted statement in that I really do like the RTS nic. Plus I have a bit on hand with plans to acquire more.

Thanx!

Hello everyone, I've been mixing my own juice for about 7-8 months now and have a pretty good idea of what I like (strong TH, love my flavors, etc.) and after reading through some of this very informative thread I would really like to try some WLI. I have a few questions, if they have been covered before please forgive me as there is a lot to take in here. I have sent an email to WL but have not heard back (as I expected due to the move) and thought you all might be able to answer. The ice is not listed on their site, is it available in all strengths and sizes as are their "normal" nic bases? Is the pricing different from WLR? Is it even available to order, when they re-open? I have been ordering from HDV in smaller quantities but with upcoming proposed regulations I'm looking to stock up in the near future and would appreciate any input. Thanks!

Thanks for the info Cyrus. I have been using the "famous maker" 60 mg VG nic from HDV which I believe is RTS. I have had good luck getting it in the past, nice and clear with no discernable odor, although my last bottle came in with a opaque yellow color and a bit of an odor. It wasnt bad, I am still using it and enjoying it but would like to see if my flavors will "shine" more in a base like ice. I appreciate what you, and everyone who has contributed here, are doing.

There's No good reason for odor other than to add to the supplier's Bottom Line. There are a handful of good places to get the best nic at great prices, no reason at all to buy yellow and smelly.

I had some early on that just had the slightest odor but as time wore on, it increased, and was pretty nasty there at the end ( 3mths.). So if you're not going to use it all Immediately- best to buy the best.

r7, thanks for the input, thats what I am looking for is the best and it sounds like this is it for me. I've had this nic for about 2 months now and it hasn't seemed to get any worse, color or odor wise. I dont want my post to sound like a complaint about HDV either, John has always been great about everything and I have no doubt that he would have replaced it if I had asked but truthfully, at the time, it didn't bother me that much.

Sounds like Ice is what you're looking for B2L, its as neutral tasting/smelling as it gets and it seems to be holding up great over time for everyone; ECX is also up there with it but people seem to be getting mixed results on the aging and as I said earlier today I really dunno what's going on there. Also may have a tad more pepper/nic "flavor" to it then WLI, but its still far less than the more 'in your face nics.' I know for a fact that ECX's nic is incredibly pure from the point of view of GC-MS so...

And then there's Xtremevaping which going on memory is just as clean and neutral tasting, but then you have to factor in cost...mucho dollars for xtreme :)

I think ice is what I'm looking for, xtreme sounded good up till the mucho dollar part. Longevity is becoming a very big factor, maybe the most important, with the future being up in the air, thanks for all the input. BTW Cyrus, where on LI are you? I grew up in Bethpage but haven't been back since '88.

Just want to clarify my earlier posting--- all bases I mentioned are 100 percent PG base not that that should really make any discernable difference. I see recent posts elsewhere with some trying to scare people off of a pg base and I disagree that it will degrade any faster than VG. If there are differences I believe them to be minor.

haha that's awesome, I grew up in Glen Cove, currently in Port Jeff Station finishing med school. Will soon be leaving the old island, probably forever :)

yeah I agree, I think nic is strong stuff, and once it decides to go buck wild its gonna eat PG or VG alive either way lol

Well, after 3wks, Wizard Labs Regular brand has shown me very quickly that nic doesn't need to have any odor or taste to have a nice "bite". Something great is in there somewhere, yet it's pure as fresh snow.....Quite impressive!

Reminds me of how they describe WTA.

( note: this "3wks" on WL is after 2 solid yrs-6mls aday- unflavored only- 7 different suppliers. So it's actually a long test for me. Knew it was great first week :)
