Absolutely. I've had only one nic base that tasted nasty, when it oxidized. That was RTS.Once a juice is mixed we want it to steep and oxygenate (usually), so yellowing is a good thing and a sign the juice is steeping. IMO, I don't want the nic juice to yellow and oxygenate before mixing. So yellowing is a bad thing, in that case. Yellowed nic juice can taste disgusting!!
I've got nicotine base (PG) sitting in my freezer. Two hard, clear plastic bottles. They've been there a couple of months and I expect them to be there for some time.
What can I expect for the long term?
Yellow may be OK, but it also means more impurities. Clear for me.
Personally I would not recommend Humco VG at all. I found the taste so horrible it really made me wonder about the quality of the stuff. If you are going to get VG locally (rather than USP VG from WL or elsewhere), NOW brand completely blows it out of the water.
In terms of "flavorless", I'm wondering if other nics are just that flavorful, or I am doing something to picking up flavor most people do not? I would not call either Ice nor regular "flavorless".
No, it's not black peppery, it's not "stinky", but it does have the slightest nic taste I can certainly pick up. Probably the closest thing I've had to the flavor is dried seaweed (which is pretty close to what I'd expect since monographs for nicotine state it has a slight fish odor when heated).
That flavor note is not strong. In Ice I can only barely detect it when using unflavored at around 30mg. That's probably the closest you'll ever get to flavorless I would guess. The regular though, I can still just detect it in a flavored (RealCig) mix @ 18mg.
I do vape through my nose a lot - often the first puff of a draw is straight from my mouth through my nose, so that could be why I detect this more than others seem to. I guess maybe it is "flavorless" in that I really only smell it, and not really taste it.
I can totally relate to the comment by r77r7r in terms of the regular being "WTA-like". While I almost always use flavorings with Ice, the RealCig I have with regular is VERY satisfying. Only makes sense since Ice goes through additional refinement - i.e. removes more of what comes from the tobacco that is NOT nicotine.

I don't like it either. I believe when we get the yellow, the vendor had let oxygen in the pure nic. Before dilution.

We're talking about taste here.Per WL they state that amber/yellow does not diminish potency or safety.
Ok - Final (possibly) update to my WL vs MFS nic experience. I vaped MFS nic all day yesterday - around 6 mls @ 12mg - went to bed feeling fine but woke up this am with swollen lips - feel just like they do after the dentist uses novacaine on me.
So - here is my timeline with this issue - I will try to keep it brief:
Started vaping with store bought juice - a few randoms and a big bottle of Bobas Bounty
About a month later:
Decided to get into DIY by purchasing MFS nic in 100% PG - my DIY juices were probably around 50/50 PG/VG.
None of my DIY Juices tasted very good to me - but I kept at it - about a week later I had really bad swollen lips and a sore throat. I decided it must be the PG . .switched back to Bobas and all my issues went away. Ordered some Nic in 100% VG from WL
About a week after that:
Finished the Bobas, started making the same recipes as before but with the WL nic. All my recipes tasted so much better - I thought I was just getting better at DIY. Vaped on these for several weeks with no issues - sometimes as much as 8ml per day. Decided it must have been the PG that was causing my swollen lips.
About a month after that:
To stock the freezer, I ordered 500ml bottle of nic in 100%VG from MFS. Mixed up a batch and tried it - tasted really bad compared to the WL nic version. Throat hit was super strong ,too. I vaped it all day, though, and woke up the next morning with the same swollen lips I was experiencing on my first go around with DIY.
So - I have prettty much come to the following conclusions:
1. MFS nic is inferior to WL nic in taste. MFS nic has a strong taste that penetrates recipes and just tastes nasty compared to WL nic
2. MFS nic contains *something* that WL nic doesn't and whatever it is gives me swollen lips and a sore throat. I know most people don't experience this otherwise I would've read about it before.
So now I have a 500ml bottle of nic that I can't really use. Hopefully I can trade it or use it to make juice for friends or something. I'm going to make some juice for my bro with the MFS nic and we'll see if he has any issues with swollen lips or anything like that.
In summary - very disapointed with MFS nic. WL is the only nic I'll be ordering from now on.
It could be the pg in the flavors as well.sorry about your troublesseems you maybe one of the unlucky few that has a bona fide immunologic response (e.g. allergy) to PG. I'm assuming of course that you used the same flavors in your VG and PG nics, and the flavors are not an issue.
Shocked that you find the MFS and WLR to be substantially different. Did you try them side by side unflavored?

Cool you're not worried about leaching that plastic over time? Is it 100mg?
