Hi. I smoked regular cigarettes for 25 years and finally quit about 15 years ago. I have no desire to smoke anything, not even e cigs. But smoking used to make me thin, and now I'm fat.

So, after doing some research on nicotine, I thought my health might actually be improved by using just nicotine somehow to reduce my weight. (I'm now 5'5 and 147 pounds, but started this experiment at 157 pounds at the end of December).

I bought nicotine lozenges. They work, but as you know, they are expensive. Then I bought a bottle of 24 strength ejuice. I was going to make candy, but found it cumbersome and time consuming. Also, even sugar free lozenges or candy have issues with insulin responses I understand.

So this is what I have done: At night, I fill a big plastic glass of water (maybe 12 oz?) and add 3 drops of the 24 strength nicotine juice, mix it well, and put it into the freezer. I believe that the nicotine in the water would be equal to smoking 3 cigarettes. Right? Then, in the morning, I take out the frozen cup and begin drinking the liquid as it melts.

So, I'm getting the 3 cigarettes slowly delivered as a drink the ice melt water. And the ice water is totally healthy and what I should be doing constantly anyway.

The cup is easy to carry around with me and VERY ordinary looking to any observers. I am going to buy one or two of those squeeze water bottles to use today. Even more ordinary looking to anybody else and even easier to carry wherever.

I just thought this might help others like me who simply want to lose weight or try to prevent Alzheimers, improve clarity of thinking, etc.

What are you going to do when you loose the weight ?

I KNOW if I stop that I will gain it back. I quit smoking a number of times and the weight always came back. (Except when I was a non-drinker, ran two miles a day, and ate only healthy stuff, all of which I've been slack on).

So, if necessary, I will continue the nicotine ice/water the rest of my life. I think I would live longer with the nicotine than the weight.

How thin are you trying to get? You are, let me guess a dress 6 now? You couldn't have been bigger than an 8 starting out. That's not fat for your height. Is someone telling you that you're fat?

So this is what I have done: At night, I fill a big plastic glass of water (maybe 12 oz?) and add 3 drops of the 24 strength nicotine juice, mix it well, and put it into the freezer. I don't know if that is equal to three smokes, good question. I would like to know how many drops equal a cig. In one month you lost 10 pounds by consuming 3 drops a day with water, did you change eating habits too? I accidentally ingest a couple drops a day and I always rinse and drink water after that, I haven't lost any weight and I drink 3 liters of water a day also.

Do you think this might be a mind over matter thing? You are convinced it's a slimming agent, I'll keep telling myself that too! But I don't think you're fat and you are going to great lengths to hide it from your loved ones which I think is more concerning than your weight issue. What else are you hiding in that box?

If you Google "rat" "nicotine" and "weight loss." you can read a little research on it. Somebody should probably do some more (research). Bodies react differently to nicotine, that's for sure, but mine is consistent in being thinner with nicotine.

Thank you, forum management, for bringing this thread back.

An update: I have found 3 drops of 24mg strength nicotine to a big sports bottle size of ice to be very weak. I am experimenting (VERY slowly and carefully) with adding drops and alkalizing my mouth to help it absorb better (xylitol gum). Now I can feel the mouth buzz that I get from lozenges.

The biggest problem I have found is having the ice melt too fast. Then I have to freeze it again. I only want to sip the little quantities of just melted ice.

By the way, I have been doing this for a couple of months, yet I do not wake up craving it like I used to wake up in the morning craving a cigarette. I don't think it is the same kind of addiction, if an addiction at all. Call me silly if you want.

The lozenges are placed against the cheek and the nic absorbed into the bloodstream, not swallowed.

I know. But nicotine water has been marketed in the past. I do try to sip the water just as it is melting and swish it around a little bit. I realize it doesn't absorb once it's past the mouth. Anyway, it's much cheaper than the lozenges.

Nicotine can be absorbed many ways. More power to you. If it works for you-then that is all that matters. I might add this to my current research. It does sound interesting. It would seem no different than a buccal application. (Cheek absorbtion method).

I don't think your silly. It is a frugal method of nicotine application to the body. Folks can smoke, vape, chew, use snuff, snuss, use mints, and actually ingest nicotine. If I didn't have the hand to mouth addiction I would try as well. I am always afraid of the flavorings. (Inhalation.)

Recipe update: (not a recommendation)

2 cups water
6 drops Alkazone (to raise ph, tastes better than baking soda)
8 drops 24mg e-liquid
20 drops Passion Flower extract (health food store)
I freeze and sip the melting ice, or at least take only small sips frequently if it is not frozen. I love the fizzy feel in my mouth, and it gives me a gentle, calm, but alert feeling. No buzz.

Oh yeah, and a teaspoon of xylitol.

I am waiting an order of CIGRX because I want to add it for its anatabine. I predict it will be even better then.
